We grabbed the DH54 grinder Carl and others recommended. No complaints as the combo makes a killer cup.

This may have been the best shot of espresso I’ve had. Galo Morales Gesha light roast, [emoji637]:[emoji637][emoji6[emoji640][emoji637]] past first crack. [emoji638][emoji637] G in and [emoji639][emoji[emoji6[emoji640][emoji638]][emoji640][emoji640]]G out over [emoji637]:[emoji637][emoji6[emoji640][emoji637]] including a [emoji637][emoji6[emoji640][emoji637]] second pre-infusion. I think there’s still some room for improvement using these beans and definitely room to improve the roast. Maybe a touch less fine or drop the dose to [emoji638][emoji[emoji6[emoji640][emoji638]][emoji640][emoji6[emoji640][emoji638]]]g and get more volume out. The fruit and floral notes popped! Gave a sip to my wife and she said, “is that just coffee”?

How many grams of water do you think you add when you steam milk?
    It's significant.

Milk straight out of the fridge will absorb 10-15% of its weight in water from condensation of steam.

If you want less dilution you can pre-warm the milk without the use of steam or you can remove water from the milk by freezing and straining the milk in advance.

Finally bit the bullet and got an expensive hand grinder. Kingrinder K6. Also, finally used an aeropress to make "espresso". Holy shit, i though it would be crappy watery shot, but i ended up using James hoffman's recipe on the Aeromatic App and made a fucking phenominal "espresso". 18g coffee/90gram water. Im honestly shocked at what ive been missing just making pourovers all these years thinking that i didnt have the budget to make espresso... or espresso-like.
Used these beans from my garage roaster guy in Minnesota: https://cuckoocoffeeroastery.com/pro...u-womens-co-op I highly reccomend ordering from him if you want to try out different beans but dont want to pay $30 per bag, and be stuck with 1lb+ each time. I find it a really cost-effective way to try out new coffees while i make my DD brew with cheaper beans.

Insted of going by the time ( 30 sec) I bean just looking in the cup for about the right level of espresso and stop at that, I might pay attention to time but only to figure out what I might have done wrong this shot
