you could always drill out the non-adjustable one, and replace with adjustable?

    or just ski it

Following up from my posts on last page: sizing down to 25.5 was long overdue. I am ripping in these new boots and couldn't be happier. My toes get a little cold but I imagine that'll get better as I figure out optimal buckle tightness and break in the liner a bit more. Just to recap: I switched from Lange RX 130 LV 26.5 to Salomon S/pro Alpha 130 25.5.

I have a follow-up question regarding my AT setup: I thought it'd be fine just to stay in my current setup (Technica Zero G Pro 26.5 with Intuition Pro Tours and a custom insole) because skinning in race-fit boots sounds slightly hellish, but I skied some nasty heavy powder and chop in them on Saturday and am wondering if sizing down there is a good idea too. The slop was disturbing and made my skiing just awful. Could've been the light skis having an effect but I was all over the boots. They feel fine in fresh powder, but that's about it.

Again - I have normal instep, a narrow last foot, large medial ankle bones, and 264/262 mm long feet. In your professional opinions, should I look to size down here to 25.5 too, or try to make what I have work? Spending another $1k doesn't really appeal but I'm willing to dive in again if it's doable and if I will see real gains (and still able to be comfortable) in the AT stuff. Thanks guys!

Any workable diy way to “punch” for 2-4mm more width across the metatarsal heads? Boot is a 2019 rx130, the all black ones.

I dont have access to a press and I don’t want to have the local shop do this. I do have a heat gun and can/will pull cuffs off the clogs

    1) buy this and DIY https://blademaster.com/web/en/skate...21-sc6000.html

    2) not really

    3) pad your foot where the extra width is needed wtih 3mm of firm foam. Heat shell in just below boiling water for 3-5 min. Put foot in liner, put liner in shell, buckle up shell very tight, crack beer, cool shell for 10-15 min (in snow better) Be in a LOT of pain, it should be a bit better after

Options to decrease ankle pronation / medial collapse of ankle in boot?

More curious as to the options to accomplish said goal then specific solution to my issue; but.... nord8ca pro machine 130, zip fits, foot seems slightly inverted, ankle pronation improves as boot is flexed forward, knee feels medial in neutral stance but (if I remembor correctly is pretty well aligned),

    Thx

you have a custom bed, and this is not resolving the issue?

    maybe either
    1) more arch support wtih a new footbed

    2) small various wedge under the footbed on the inside of the heel.

    3) upper cuff alignment.

Copy that. Thank you! My footbeds are pretty old now; six or seven years old and a few boots

cold toes and zipfits. I never get cold toes and here Euro sides, it ain't cold at the minute but my toes feel cold. I'm thinking it could be trapped blood flow to the toes. What do the boot fitters do about that?

does it happen with same shell and footbed but a non-zip liner?

Any parts of your foot red or white, when you take the boot off?

Odds are a bit too much pressure over the instep. Can you remove any material from the zip tongue? Or get a vertical stretch done over the instep?

Zipfits ski great but the paper-thin neoprene toes have close to zero insulating power. Personally I would go with a heated sock - my favorite is the Lenz Toecap 5.1 or (thinner) 6.1

no drama with other liners, only the zipfits.

plenty of the foot redness, toes definitely can't remember anywhere else as I wasn't paying too much attention, I'll make a mental note tomorrow.

It's warm here in Eurolands(+5 today up in the mountains) and my toes felt sort of numb.

Ive never had cold toe problems, I run like a radiator hot all the time. You saying it could be pressure over the top of the foot in the instep area stopping the blood flow?

I'll try pushing some of the putty up the tongue away from the instep area.

never ever had cold feet. these have the lambs wool as well as the neoprene in the toe area. everything's great about them apart from the cold/numb toe drama

sounds like Zips might not be the right liner for you.

see if you can remove/move some zip-jiz away from that area, but if not maybe look for a liner that fits better?

Try not threading the laces through the bottom eyelets.

Seconded to taking the laces out of the lower eyelet or two to reduce instep pressure. Also try massaging the cork up the tongue.

if I get my wife to wank the tongue will that help remove the jizz?

Got a problem for the boot wizards. 18 yo daughter has Nordica Promachine 105s and skis them hard. She's had constant foot and calf cramping problems. She just got a new footbed plus intuitions (with a tongue, not a wrap). We use a well respected bootfitter in Boulder - Larry's. But there is an issue. The fitter said that her calf adjusters were broken and that we needed to order new ones (which we can't get before she heads back to Salt Lake this weekend). Fitter wanted to form the top of the shell to widen the calf areas, but didn't want to do that until she had new calf adjuster parts and could see if that did it first. Fitter says the calf adjuster (cant I think)?) is just spinning, so they can't be adjusted and the fit changes throughout the ski day.

So question for you guys - if it possible that BOTH boots have the same broken part here? Or are they just not in right or something? Should I pull it part and take a look?

    Thoughts?

Also, if I order the parts directly to my daughter where do I find them? Fitter said they could even be pulled out of old boots. How are these things possibly broken?

can you post a pic of whats broken/spinning?

not sure why that needs to be fixed, before molding a liner, or flairing a shell? but maybe?
