here's a shot or two of my 15.00 rack...
2 sections of 3/4" square steel tubing and a bunch of Stainless bolts/washers and a few old bike handlebar grips and a nice assortment of Voile straps.
Bolts right into the T-Slot tracks on the newer Polaris sleds. Can have it fully removed in 30 secs for non-ski sled adventures...
South Lake Shoutout did anybody hear about a rogue sled romping down pioneer trail last night around midnight i was on my way into grooming at heavenly a say about 6 sheriff SUVs told me they were looking for a snowmobile recklessly driving up pioneer cheers to whoever that takes so extra large juevos!!!
The home made racks are great for saving cash, but getting caught up in that during a crash would mess you up. The Cheetah racks are the best for true sled skiing. Check them out, hold 2 pairs of skis and a gascan, or extra gear.

Some stoke from today...
Abby getting it done after we built her a big booter
Abby's trying to get a little freestyle... first lookback
Karate kick (a little shifty)
willy the Kona rep, thinking he's on a bike!
Abby is filming with a company from ID this week, she's stepping it up more every day!!!
Hey Dave, hope the wheels worked out today! Hope they didn't mess anything up!
The one I ride at work (ski patrol) just went in for service at ~17,000 miles. It got a fancy new blinking headlight as part of the service.....I've only been riding a snowmobile for a few days a week for a month now and have buried it tipped it over, and generally had a very good time covering ALOT of ground.
A few from Saturday. While everyone waited in line at Mammoth my buddy and I took out the sleds. IF I hadn't got waist deep powder at June on Friday I probably would've been waiting in line as well.
Fresh turns, no lines
Bald Mountain looking very Alaska like except there are no massive peaks behind it.
More turns
Deep
There were a few face shots.
and wheelies
back to the turns
The next pictures were cropped because the helmet visor got in the way.
I don't care what anyone says. Powder on a sled is every bit as much fun as skiing or snowboarding in powder. Here's a powder turn sequence.
This last week has been incredible on and off the mountain. It's snowing again.
That looks like it was incredibly fun.
Happy to hear someone is getting snow.
The PNW continues to get the short end of the stick.
Sleds haven't been off the trailer since November.
My throttle thumb is starting to get itchy.
Sweet man, glad it was worth the stop!
I could just TELL my sled was 1.78 lbs lighter on sat, WOW what a difference!!![]()

seen some nice setups - check the system I am using. its just ratcheting snowboard binding ankle straps bolted to the sides of the tunnel. the snowboard straps were free from my neighbor's broken bindings, so the total cost was approximately $1.69 for two carriage bolts, two washers, and two locknuts. I have a bungee cord running across the gas tank to hold the tips in which is barely visible in the photo. one ski and one pole on each side: fast, cheap, bomber, and easy assembly.
no,no, no, you must spend $400 on a fancy one with snowboard straps, thats the only way to sledski, just wait till you chunder that thing and you don't look as cool as all the guys who got free cheetah racks (so they could go spray about that being the only way).
I've been using 1 $2 bungee for 7 years and have yet to have any issues.
Oh, and BTW...
Nice rack.![]()
Hey gang, just wondering if anyone could offer any insight here. Starting to seriously look at sleds now and have found a 2003 Polaris RMK 800, 159". Has 2300kms on it. Anyone have an 03 RMK? Issues/likes etc?
Whats the deal with Polaris? Seems like people either love or hate 'em.
polaris 800- 900 have a bad reputation for crank breakage.
Too small of bearing on the clutch side
If the motor has had the updates to wide bearings on the crank it would be a good sled.
The chassis's are bombproof.
here's a couple of shots from this weekend:

I only got one shot before the batteries died on Sat.

So who's going where now that SnoWest is a pay site? Backcountryrebels?
BCR and sledmods is where I will go.
Yeafk snow west..
snow and mud .com for me
That's what i ride, exactly. Good machine, climbs well. Never had any problems with it, but honestly, i don't have all that many hours on it.
If i didn't already have it though, i'd probably try to get something a year or 3 newer with the newer chassis. From what i gather, they handle significantly better. I mean any brand (2-stroke): M-series, RMK, Summit.
