Nah that seats new. All the 'mods' I did to the thing were just the simmons skis.

Hows the sled treating you guys by the way?

Yeah, picked up the boss seat about a month ago. The stock AC 1M series seats are horrible. One of the best and easiest upgrades to make on that sled.

Loving it so far, pulls nicely most of the time. It bogs a bit, only in deep snow though. Has an SLP airbox, so I'm thinking it might be the exhaust getting plugged up. Going to throw on some sort of deflector to see if that helps. Loving the AC's in this thread.

Haha. Obviously I didn't ski today and felt like I was cheating on my girlfriend the whole time. It was weird.

Anyway, being this was my 4th day on my sled I figured I'm justified leaving the skis behind until I hit day 6. At that point I really WILL have to do some "reflecting".

(oh, and I need a rack too...that'll help me feel more like bringing the skis along)

    Kidwoo,

I actually just had a good "talk" with my skis. I think they'll understand...but I'm going to have to spend a lot of time with them coming up.

Anyway, yeah, I needed that wakeup call. Thanks. (I suppose I should take back that ski doo jacket I bought??? )

I'm just picking on you in particular. Because all the guys (and nadia) that say you'll have some weird revleation sledding just never knew how to ride a mountain bike like a man.

    That ain't you.

Suzy's running great. We had some early season encounters with stumps and rocks but she's back in the saddle again. When are you headed this way?

New toy: '02 RMK 800 156" with a fair number of mods. Mrs. Cruiser wasn't real thrilled about me spending a ton of cash on a second snowmobile this year so the budget was kind of limited. Still, I think this ought to get the job done. Bring on the snow!

Had to line up the shot so as to expose the beautiful Lhasa's that I knocked off the wall when I pulled the trailer in last night.

Infamous right side bog. Search the Snowest 1M forum for a fix. Some dandy ideas out there; none of which seem to work to well without re-routing the discharge, which can get expensive. Just keep it WFO in the deep and learn to live with it.

They had some issues with the 800 motor (I assume it's an 800?) but I don't think they're as common as people make them out to be.
Other than that possible issue, it's a great sled, a few things can be done to narrow the stance & make it handle better. It still won't handle like a current model sled will, but it will do what you need it to do.

Assuming it hasn't been crashed and been kept up seems like a pretty good deal for the tahoe area. If its your first sled its usually nice to get someone to go with you to test drive it.

Sick edit.... Snowmobiling kinda makes me mad. I can ride a dirtbike and ski just fine. But turning a sled in deep pow is not so easy. Looks super fun once you get it though.

fluff, both those sleds posted are listed at damn good deals (pending the motor details on the cat). I won;t get techie on brand or anything, but those are both very good prices for the sled, and if that cat is as minty as described, it will go fast too.

If I was buying a sled right now in Tahoe it'd be this one:

Awesome sled with a rebuilt engine. Parts are easy to come by.

Have you checked the wall at Thin Air Motor sports or the Polaris shop in south lake? Both usually have really good deals, especially the one in SLT.

It sounds like a pretty sick machine, but if this is your first sled you might want to go with a sled with less mods so that it is easier for you to work on. Regardless of what you go with, i would definetly suggest an 04 or newer which has independent front suspension and no a-arms to deal with

Fluff, I just purchased an 04 Mountain Cat 900 159" track with similar mods and about the same amount of hours on a rebuilt motor. Feels like it has gobs of power, but I did have the issue of bogging in waist deep snow. I think I will be able to fix it with an exhaust snow deflector or exhaust dump reroute. Takes a little more muscle to throw around then the new sleds, but on my second day out I was able to lay it over pretty easily most of the time. Hit me up if you have any questions.
