I do not know what sled this was originally spec'd for. The existing hole pattern is 10 7/8" L X 12 11/X" W. The total rack is 15 1/4" L X 17" W. It really depends on which year Pro, whether it has the LinQ equivalent, and what the tunnel cooler set up is.
What year and track Pro? Maybe someone else knows better. What my friends and I have always done, is drill our own holes in the tunnel and the rack. Everyone tunnel layout differently and people want there racks in different places.
Price wise $250 plus shipping looks like about half of retail? Let me know what sounds fair.
Went back out again today. Holy crap the difference between the '13 artic cat and a 2000 ski-doo is umm noticable. Boys made me work today. Only 1 snapped throttle, got 4 stucks, 1 sled that broke the ice, 2 people very wet, some fire time, maybe a bit of shatter, and lots of sidehilling. This shit is fun.

If anybody does sled skiing around the Fernie/East Kootenays and wants to teach a fucking noob, hit me up! I'm not completely retarded and have ridden timbersleds a bunch, just no friends locally who sled ski, or even like sleds.
If you can't find any friends, Weir Boondocking is in your neck of the woods and I'd say a pretty good investment for a day.
What's the deal with top end rebuilds? I'm brand new to sledding, bought a 2014 ski doo summit 800 this year, its got about 3000 miles on it.
I've heard its a thing you do around this mileage? Is it like doing the timing belt on a car around 100k - you just do it?
Or should I be looking for signs that its needed?
Anything else I should be looking into as the season wraps up?
My dealer (I-90) says don't bother w/ top end rebuilds on ETECs. You should be able to get over 4k miles before you have to consider other options (full engine rebuild or refurbished short block). There are plenty of other parts on that sled that I would be inspecting and maintaining, starting with the clutches and suspension.
Make sure the outboard bottom end bearing has been serviced on the 800 etc. Easy project especially since you need to take the clutch off to inspect.
So, sounds like I'm probably good on the rebuild.
Any other end-of-season maintenance I should be thinking about?
I'm new to this and not the best with vehicles, so kind of just figuring it out here.
If you are that way you might want to bring to a dealer and have them do a full walk through. Less than $500 usually and they will check everything including engine, clutches, hyfax, chain case, and ECU. The majority of owners do it that way.
Get some skidoo oil while you are there. Don't run anything else.

Just noticed this listing on the methownet.com bulletin board. Sounds like a potentially good deal for someone:
2002 Arctic Cat Mountain Cat 800. Starts but doesn't run. It ran earlier this year. $300 obo call Elise (five-oh-nine) 846-9218
Evening ride to highest point of Finland, Halti 1324m! 110km loop around wilderness. Going fast towards midnight sun, sun sets now 20.30 and rises 04.40. Best time of year!

Hey sled mags.
I think I blew the bottom end of my sled. Won't start, check engine came on and then shut down abruptly. lots of smoke etc coming out the side. Still got compression when i try and pull it. Shop in quoting 4k (cad) for a rebuild. Its a 2015 with 6000kms on it. I'm thinking about parting it out.
My buddy is selling the exact same sled for 5500 with less kms so im thinking i can gut the busted one and keep all the good bits and ditch the rest?
Did you test compression, or just saying that you feel resistance when you yank the pull start?
I've blown two lower ends over the years, and both were also accompanied by completely trashed top ends. Once a broken piston skirt ruined my lower end, and once a blown crank bearing bent the rods and ruined the top end that way.
What I'm getting at is it is unlikely that your problem is isolated to just lower end parts.
If it were me I would either go for a new crate motor (if I wanted to keep it) or swap a donor motor into it and sell it in the fall when you'll get top dollar, upgrade over the summer if you have the means.
