^Nice! What did it end up costing you?
First season using it should be the most expensive one, i spent about 1500 dollars as i kept finding things that needed repair in my used sled. Totally worth it tho

Looks like most ski racks are sold out already. Any leads on names I might be missing in my search?
^ i was looking around early i don’t think many brands had inventory….i could b wrong gonna dig out a 10 yr old x rack unless the burglars got it

Looking for a little help with my CFR riser install. Sled is a 2016 Summit X (XM platform). Having a couple issues:
1) The CFR have the risers at ~3.75" c/c and 4.5" out-to-out when following the instructions on their website.
Check out at 8:30 in the video below - they mention having the outside face of the riser blocks being flush with T-post.
That's how I've installed mine.
The stock riser is ~3.25" c/c of the bolts and ~3.25" outside to outside of where the handlebar sits in the riser block (~3.5" total out to out but the saddle where the bar sits is slightly inset). This additional 3/4" width out-to-out of the saddles means that the handlebars actually start to curve up inside the CFR riser blocks. Note these are stock bars whereas in the video they are installing CFR Boondocker 2.0 bars.
Stock riser for comparison.
I assume plenty of people have installed CFR risers on the XM model summit X - anyone run into this issue and how did you resolve it? I can move the riser blocks inward to reduce the issue enough that when I torque the bolts in the gap closes up.
2) I purchased the mountain strap adaptor. Had to get a 2017+ (G4) mountain strap as mine didn't fit (XM mountain strap has a beveled bottom - G4 mountain strap has a flat bottom. Doh.) But due to the lower height and different profile, these adaptors don't fit between the bars and conflict with the rise of the bars. Anyone dealt with this?
Presumably getting a CFR handlebar would solve both these issues, or at least #1 and hopefully #2. If not I can just get bar nuts and live with it but that's all $$$ I'd really prefer not to spend.
3) Not related to the riser. Can I loosen this bolt that connects my brake line? I want to re-orient the brake hose location to allow me to rotate the brake lever downwards - currently the brake line conflicts with the riser if it is rotated any lower. Not sure if the bolt has a hole through it to allow brake fluid to flow and the orientation is important, if there is a gasket that I'll mess up or if the metal sac bulges around and it's not an issue.

No experience with that setup, but you should be able to slide the riser blocks in a little without any issues. Having them as far out as possible just gives you the most leverage on the steering post. It's more important to mount on the correct part of the bar. You can also loosen that banjo bolt and adjust it, but be careful as some brake fluid may leak out (shit is caustic and will mar your plastics).
Carefully and barely loosen the banjo bolt on the brake line just enough to quickly rotate it and re-tighten it and you *may* not get an air bubble in there and have to bleed it.
Open it too much or too long and you are likely to get an air bubble, and mushy ineffective brakes until properly bled.
I've done it many times successfully, but I work on motos a lot.
Good to know regarding the banjo bolt (wasn't aware of the name). Not too too worried if I have to bleed the brakes - I'm planning on refilling the reservoir anyways and if bleeding is needed it's not a huge deal. I'll use a drip pan to catch any spillage.
Regarding the riser, the bar is only flat for ~3-1/2", which makes sense as the stock riser block saddles are ~3-3/8" out-to-out. Best the CFR riser blocks can be is ~4-3/8" out-to-out. rom some research it appears to be a 2015-2017 skidoo freeride handlebar, if ebay is to be believed, so not stock to the X model but presumably the steering column and T-bar on the freeride is the same. So... yeah. Good times. I'll give CFR a shout tomorrow to see what's up. The demonstration video is on a 2015 summit x so presumably all the same except for the handlebars are stock summit X bars in the video. Too tired to fangle with it any more tonight.

If you wind up needing to bleed the brakes (unlikely), you have to do it from the caliper bleed screw, with a syringe (i.e., you push the fluid up to the reservoir and yes it's a shitty one person job).
Sounds like chip and part shortage hitting Ski-doo. Not sure about other brands but some 2022 spring orders won’t be shipped till Jan/feb....
Saw this online today...

That's a MAJOR problem
Wait, so skipping 3-5 years of R/D, installing mod turbos and rushing them into production that were only intended for the pros or guys with a lot of time and money do a lot of maintenance wasn’t a great idea? Interesting…

My mistake, but everything you said still applies. Then again the only summit turbos I saw that had trouble were modded. The ones people didn’t mess with to get .001% more HP didn’t have issues.
