stowe was fun today. helmet cam did not work for some odd reason. Snow was windblown as shit but super deep in heavily wooded spots. it was a weird day with the random lift openings, but nonetheless, a sick day. i am fuckin exhausted now. round two tomorrow.

sam: it was more of a birds eye than an intentional tilt

stowe was fun today, but was better yesterday without a doubt. Since most of the chairs were down early on, the places that dont see as much traffic as the inbounds and high key things were hammered (read the bench)

The snow was heavy and windblown, but I still got some long face shots today and yesterday.

Now I get to spend no less than 24 hrs in the engineering building catching up on my work

Don't you go accusing me of Skidogging Sam. Just because you're a famous skier from the internet doesn't give you the right to hate on my photog skillz.

    Truthfully, any tilt was unintentional.

    Just for you:

    Sorry Perry

I would say that is far from the truth, if Kmart skied anything like Pico today. Made the drive all the way up from Boston, bailed on work, and was severely dissapointed. Windblown to the point that it was even hooky with my ARGs. If they got 20 inches (as they were reporting) 15 of those were gone from the wind and what remained was hammered down real tight.

Although, I did stop off at Whaleback for a few night laps on the way up last night. That made the whole trip worth it. I've driven past that place probably hundreds of times and never been. Real fun, esp. catching it before the wind turned the new snow to shit.

I was at K today. Got first tracks down the fiddle. While it was windblow, the steeper stuff was really a ton of fun, and untracked steep stuff was great. Today was a great day for hucking and I've got some pics I'll post when I get back to school.

Yesterday was much better I agree, and today had the potential to be the best day of the year and the wind screwed it up. It still beat class today.

Cannon was a bit chunky, but overall very good today. I feel that this was the last big basebuilding storm needed for things to go off everywhere. Then again, I've only skied in NH this year, so I could just be an idiot.

You are right schuss, excellent base building storm. We had a great day at Mad River.

Some of the usual warnings at the top of the single.

First of all take note, According to the websites mad river got 10-12 inches of snow, sugarbush, 21. They are only miles apart. I find that VERY VERY hard to believe. I would describe the snow today as 2 feet of snow compacted into one foot of snow. It was great for many of the steep technical stuff that are usually in rough shape. We headed out to 3 cliffs several times today. Again many warnings

We did not take many action pics but had a glorious day of launching everything in sight. At times I felt like Russell Crowe in Gladiator. Oh and we saw our friend the moose again

yeah roark and I noticed some runneling on the closed section of redline and there was significant compaction towards the end of the day.

Did you hit up any of the trees at Bear? How hammered did the Fiddle get? Is it all bumped up or just a lot of cut up crud? Going up tonight and I'm just wondering what to expect.

BTW: If Red Line looked that good for the Black Magic Challenge last year, I wouldn't have skied it like such a pussy.

Chunky for sure. I enjoyed it early today before it got chunky. A few afternoon runs to the unauthorized region made the day a hudge success. There is still a need to cover the bones. I tried to cover them with pieces of my base.

After reading through some of these reports. I have to say there is a little to much complaining going on. I understand all good the snow got hammered, and that it had potential to be a deep day. But I am going Nihiles on your asses.

Wedensday I skied behind some hotel, on the top of a hill in Worcester, and it was fucking raining halfway through my session!!!!

BEHIND SOME HOTEL ON THE TOP OF A HILL IN WORCESTER.

And It was still fucking kickass.

Post some more pics and be a little less cunty or I will be forced to go back there and post pics of 75' vert line I glissaded. BEHIND SOME HOTEL ON THE TOP A HILL IN WORCESTER!!!

Edit: Falldise Nice stoke, sorry about the anger everyone, but life is good right now. Hoping to make it out of my Van down by the river next weekend.

Point taken but I know that some of you folks ride on big enough skis to float and blast.

I do not know exactly the extent of the wind hammering. Unbudgable styrofoam is never fun.

Man,I need to take a break from TGR.

I agree with that ^ jong. I fucking bust up my ACL so that an epic season is guaranteed (still only the end of January) and all anyone can do is whine that it was all windblown and tricky. Suck it up, at least you can deal with windblown and tricky snow on skis instead of crutches

magic weds was best day of season so far for me.
pretty deep by 1pm, and last 3 hours were spectacular/ridiculous - fast, bouncy and just plain deep!
today was just pretty damn excellent.
wind-loaded snow snapped back up after a little churning and sun kept things creamy.

highly recommended still for anyone in striking distance.
    stratton, that is
