I say go now. that way you can go again after the olympics and you will have done it twice. The village is in great shape now and with the economy in a tailspin, it's going to be a lot less crowded this year. I really noticed the difference last season when the housing market started to tank. just avoid big holidays, because whistler really sucks when you have to wait 40 minutes for a chairlift.

As for prices, there are always good deals to be had in whistler, you've just gotta do some digging

the first three weeks of december are the best time of the year to visit whis if we've been blessed with some good early season dumps; hotels are dirt cheap by comparison to peak times, and the mountains are empty except for a bunch of highly stoked locals.

There's serious lodging/tix deals to be had right now as W/B hasn't had the reservations it usually takes. Hunt around. As for post-2010, shit will be blown out. Come now before they put in a high-speed quad up WestBowl, a limo service up Flute and a fucking elevator up Spanky's.
