Anything to do in Branson, Mo???

So I am going to be in Branson for a few days starting the end of the week. I have never been to Missouri before is it full of weirdo's? Is there anything cool to do? Are the women like sloths? Should I get a rental car with spinners? I Need some advice.

Thinking about going bass fishing one day

Use to live in MO for 10 yrs...Lake of the Ozarks. Ozarks are nice, may be a bit early for the trees to turn though. Been a long time since Branson but from what I remember alot of "older" folks walking around enjoying shows. I never spent much time there other than driving through but on my list it would be... hiking, fishing, golfing, drinking. Pick any order you want.....

How old are you? There are some good rivers to do some canoeing on, especially if you like to drink a lot. Go to Lake of the Ozarks, google party cove. If you want to make a day trip down to Arkansas, go climbing at Sam's Throne. There's a lot to do, what do you want to do? How many do you need to keep entertained?

Went there a few times w/ the family while growing up in IL. Was pretty young. All I remember is Silver Dollar City and the big water park there, White Water something or nother. To this day I still remember being at Silver Dollar City and all of a sudden having to crap real bad. Needless to say, I didn't make it to the shitter on time. Ahhh memories........

So basically, I don't think there is shit to do in Branson itself. Go fishing in the hills, as iceman said, they are quite nice.

The town of Branson, itself, is not a scene that would be of interest to me. It is a very crowded strip of tourist shit and large family entertainment houses like the ones mentioned. The surrounding area has some awesome things to do.

Table Rock Lake is right there and IMO a much nicer lake than the Lake of the Ozarks (three hours away). It is less crowded, clearer water and you could (back in the day) always find an empty cove, out of the wind with some excellent water to ski and cliffs to jump.

The country side is nice, steep rugged hills with a lot of bluffs and hardwood forests that are beautiful when the trees are turning. Be warned that there can be tons of poison ivy, ticks and chiggers.

There are a lot of creeks that have awesome smallmouth and white bass fishing and if you have a boat and know how to fish a big lake Table Rock is great for largemouth.

Branson itself is a bunch of old people going to real crappy shows. The Ozarks are really nice though. Several good lakes to go to. Bull Shoals, Table Rock, and some others.

I haven't been to Branson since I was almost too young to remember but the area is beautiful. Someone else mentioned climbing...if you're into that check out horseshoe canyon ranch in Arkansas. link

You don't need a guide to go bass fishing unless you have that kind if money. Bass eat everything, provided you can put it in front of their face.
Isn't there one of those rivers teeming with carp you can shoot with a bow and aroow? Drive the boat at a certain speed an they fly out of the water?
If you want to have a guided fishing trip in the midwest make it that one. IMO.
Branson itself has to blow no way around it.
