Recommended Dynastar binding to go on 184 Legend Pros?

Anyone have strong feelings on this? For reasons I don't want to get into, the binding has to be an 08/09 Dynastar to go on a pair of 184 Legend Pros.

A friend was telling me about two factors to keep in mind on these bindings: the metal vs. plastic toe piece, and also the amount of contact on the ski (old turntable design vs. the newer design) where the newer version adversely affects the ski's natural flex. Thoughts?

Does the branding matter? Because Dynastars, like Rossis, are just paint-engineered Looks. (Except the AT bindings, which are paint-engineered Silvrettas, IIRC.)

My bad. Can't tell your paint-engineered bindings without a scorecard.

did you miss the part where he said it had to be a 08/09 dynastar? so yes im guessing branding matters otherwise he would have asked for a look binding.

To answer your question px14 will be fine for you, since it sounds like you have no idea what youre talking about to start with I doubt you will need an all metal binding such as the px18 or whatever they call them now. And yes you will be stuck with the new style non turntable heel because as you said they have to be an 08/09. Im not sure why you asked about discontinued older model bindings when you clearly stated you have to buy a curtain year one.... but anyway px14 and try the search bar in the future jong

Sometimes people care because of warranty issues. Of course, skis don't get sent back for warranty with bindings attached, so all that matters then is the hole pattern, not whether it has a Dynastar or Look (or Rossi) logo.

The rest of the post was simply intended to point out that Dynastar = Look. TTBOMK, the model names are usually even consistent. Perhaps I didn't say it as precisely as I could have (although since I posted right after mntlion told him to search, so it seems implicit), but that's where he's going to find discussions of these issues.

I could've just JONGed him. Instead, I tried to help. No need to be an jerk about it.

There isn't much posted on the 08/09 models, which is why I posted the question here. And I have no idea why you think I have no idea what I'm talking about -- sure the turntables aren't made anymore, but they had a cult following and the contact on ski issue (one of the biggest strengths of the turntables) seems to vary depending on which 08/09 model you're talking about, affecting the flex of the ski and performance. Never ceases to amaze my how this board rounds up some of the biggest douche ego-driven skiers on the planet.

I had PX 12's on my old 194 LP and had zero binding issues for the 25-30 times I skied them.
