Hey, I know this is a total JONG question... but what's the deal with the pass deadline at Kirkwood? Will they really not sell any more passes after the 20th? Do they make any exceptions to this rule? I'm moving to Tahoe this weekend, but I'm not sure if I'll wind up on the North or South Shore, but I don't want to miss out on a Kirkwood pass just because I arrived too late.

Please excuse the JONGness, but any help would be appreciated.

^^^^ They just raise thew price next week.

AKBruin - ltcc was pretty good, esp. for $40. We had three no shows this weekend, so walk in seems reasonable. I bet next weekend some blow it off to ski snow instead of dig snow.

Ran into Stroup and Intern at the Heave, then a gaggle of Bro Hos. Poaching the trees off Dipper reaped some powder rewards.

I headed back to top of Gondi around 1pm to exchange my new skis for my rock skis, just as patrol opened California Trail. I got 5th, 10th and 20th run down - wide open high speed (for the mild angle) powder field.

Poked around some more trees, and then returned to California Trail. Just killer conditions. Actually did not hit too many rocks. KW looked to be teh goods boys. Nice work. Should be back there by Thursday... wife permitting.

    Unemployment sucks.

Oh! Get Dhelihiker a day pass for this past Sunday at KW. This is not a pyramid set up - he just needs the hook up.

We will start off the day with Chair 5, intermediate skiing and riding, but expect to have Chair 11 by mid morning, which accesses intermediate and advanced/expert terrain. We will then move to the top of the mountain and could have Chair 6 sometime today, but no guarantees, we’ll see how far our experienced mountain crew can get. After that, we’ll evaluate the rest of the mountain and see what else is ready to go. We should have most if not all the mountain open in the next few days, so stay tuned.

Okay, that's cool. Do you, by any chance, know what they'll raise the 6Wood pass to?

    -Thanks

Ullr pukes and then I puke.

I was able to get coverage from 7am to 10am and could've hit Rose this morning. But unfortunately a little virus* changed my plans. The stomach flu is not fun. Bluebird, pow and I've got it going at both ends.

    Thought you'd want to know.

come now, public pressure to go to squaw? I'm happy with good ole home mtn kirkwood.

squaw is huge and the multitude of high speed chair lifts do not give me enough time to enjoy the mtn scenery and breezy air like I can on the chairlifts at kwood.

The customer base only wants to ski when it's warm and on the weekend, and you totally missed the opening day awesomeness.

Don't worry Jim, we skied it all out by 9:45 for ya Only had an hour and half myself this AM, but it was great again. Left a little more ptex on the mountain, but not too bad if you stick to the runs.

Rose (inbounds) was good for the first hour (knee deep), then you had to look a little further. I only stayed about 90 minutes, since I couldn't feel my toes. It was about 8 degrees out there.

Hit lots of rocks going through places that were marked "closed" but could be entered around the side of the ropes. Coverage on the officially "open" runs was pretty good; didn't hit anything there.

    Axioms = durable rock skis.

I saw a few tracks in Hourglass from the resort this AM. Plenty of cars parked in the big pullout just east of the summit. Based on coverage at the resort, I gotta imagine the in/out is still pretty bony.
