    Crispi AT boot sizing

Hey, been looking at this boot, and have found a pretty good price on it. Just wondering how the sizing runs.

My current alpine boot is a Salomon X-Wave 8.0, 29.0 mondo and that boot essentially fit me right out of the box with no mods. If anything, it is SLIGHTLY large lengthwise. I played with the 28.5, and it just felt too tight, so I went 29.0.

I tried a lot of other boots over the years. Langes are too narrow, and Nordicas seem to fit pretty well. I really wanted the newer Dalbellos to work, but they fit terribly.

This is all I can reference, as I have never owned an AT boot.

    Any suggestions?

Salomon Falcon 10 in a 27.5 fit me perfectly, I wear a 28.0 Crispi and could not go smaller. I'd say the heel pocket is similar, with the Crispi forefoot being just a little wider.

I'm using the XR tele boot, which I've heard has the same last as the Diablo.

I have the EVO & previously had an XR. The last alpine boot I owned was an X-wave 10. I skied a 26.5 in the Xwave but it was a very very snug fit. The Crispi 27 fits me perfectly. I'd say that the X-wave & newer Crispis have a very similar fit.

28.5 and 29 will be in the same shell.

From what you've described, I'd recomend the 29.0 and a set of custom foot beds. Your feet will thank you.

Ok, cool. So thats 2 of you who ride a Solly boot, and went .5 bigger in the Crispi. That gives me a good frame of reference. So I just have to decide between 29.0 and 29.5.

    Anyone else?

Same here, ran a Salomon Gun 28.5, had to go 29.0 on the Crispi. It's a good boot, this will be its 3rd season for me. Liner is totally packed out after probably 30ish days touring, and it's still too wide for me, but I give it high marks overall.

K, trigger pulled. Ordered the 29 and 29.5. Will return the one that doesn't fit.

What size shoe do you wear?

You posted your Crispi Mondo size & Your Solomon Mondo size which is great for comparing the two but how about posting your street shoe size too... as not everyone has a pair of Solomons to use as a refrence point to figure out what size Crispi they should try.

Does the Crispi(Diablo or others) shell size break at the whole or half size?

I.e. are the Crispi Diablo size 25.5 and size 26 the same shell or are the size 25 and 25.5 the same shell? I have seen posts claiming it both ways... so it would be nice if we could get a clairification... anyone willing to look at their shell and post. I see inventory lists saying it comes in sizes ranging 25.5-30 which makes me think that the 25.5 and 26 are the same size(if the 25.5 was a diff shell from the 26 then they would need to make one more mold to manufacture the full product size range)

yes I read that and I also read information to the contrary(more than once) for example see this page http://boc123.com:80/Store/bootsize.cfm from Boulder Outdoor Center which says "Crispi Boot Sizing - Each full size in the Mondo sizing is a different shell size. Example: Shell 27 and 27.5 are the same, a 28 shell will be larger."

just looking to clear this up and figure out who's fibbin' or why the information is different.

Crispi has always crammed two sizes per shell... just like everyone else making plastic boots.

In the past, before Crispi made AT boots, the teles were 26/26.5 (ie. CXP/CXA etc.)... now all Crispis are made 26.5/27...

The leathers they do, might be different, as they are based on their hiking boots... but that's another topic altogether...

    FWIW I wear a US 11.5 or 12 street shoe. Usually 12.

I posted a review on the Diablo in Tech Talk a couple of months ago:

    http://www.tetongravity.com/forums/s...d.php?t=134930

For what its worth, the Diablo actually ran big on me IMHO. Like the boot, but agree with Particle that the liner packs out UBER quick. I actually returned the boot due to the quick pack-out (which resulted in it being too big for me).

Replaced with Endorphins (which just fit my foot shape better). Funny that in the review I said Garmonts only fit me OK. Maybe it was just the Endorphin (v. the old Megarides), but that particular Garmont fit me like a glove.
