NSR PSA: Cheap and Good Computer/iPod Speakers

    http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Z-230...dp/B0002SQ2P2/

I have a set of these and they kick ass. For the price, $68 shipped, you cannot beat the sound. I used to work for Apple retail and I'd routinely send customers (the ones I liked) to amazon to buy these vs. the Harmon Kardon soundsticks, Bose 2.1s, and all the other 150-250 dollar sets. They sound as good or better, and they are stupid cheap. If you're thinking of getting any ipod docking speaker system, these will blow them out of the water. The only downside is they are larger, and not portable. I put the sub under my desk at home. One think I really like is the remote that sits up on the desk. I can control the sub from there without having to crawl under my desk to access some knob on the back of it (like the soundsticks). Anyway, $68 is a really good price, I think I paid $90 or so a couple years ago. These are great for a dorm, home office, etc. I would have no qualms about putting these in a living room to play my ipod off. They're not gonna sound as good as a traditional component system, but my component system (which is nice) has been packed up in my basement for three years because I just don't use it anymore.

I have the Klipsch Promedia 2.1, paid about $120. The Logitech looks to be the same performance for a lower price.

(and I admit to playing Call of Duty 4 with the volume turned up. )

Also don't forget that an excellent computer audio upgrade is the excellent Turtle Beach Audio Advantage USB sound card.
