Another update. We ventured back out to the Little Lost River area again. Specifically Uncle Ike. Brought my daughter along. She has a good eye for seeing things Tate and I overlooked. She located what may be John Days gravesite. Very exciting. More investigation required obviously. But it looks promising. Photos to follow.

Looking forward, as always, to seeing some more of your spectacular photos.
Hey all, an update..... I suffered another heart attack sometime over the last two months. I was unaware of it when it happened . Symptoms pushed me to the hospital and with all the (expensive af) tests it shows a torn Mitral valve. Also two new stents inserted. Open heart surgery to replace the valve scheduled for next Wednesday. Wish me luck!

Oh jeez, JB. Wishing you the best on that journey. Better livin' through chemistry I guess. Enjoy the anesthesia. Seriously though, wishing your physicians, your medical care team and you the best outcome possible.

Where are you going to have the surgery done at? Here in big city Boise or somewhere closer?

A transesophageal echocardiogram (TEE) was performed earlier today to get a better look at it. That was uncomfortable af.

Ooof, yeah, those can't be any fun, jam a transducer down your gullet and take pictures, yeah, modern medicine. Inferior wall of heart huh? Circumflex arterial supply.

Sorry you are going through this tough patch JB, you're a strong fella so you got a lot more in ya'. Thinking good thoughts for you.

Good Luck LBL.
Looking forward to more stoke from ya.

Thanks everyone. The date is fast approaching and the apprehension is getting intense. Doctors have described the procedure to me, and frankly... I am terrified. Going through with it, as the alternative is a slow painful suffocating death. Or a fast one if you are lucky. (Cardiac arrest). Upside, is I will be back in form in 6 weeks if all goes well. Hanging in there...

Surgery on Monday is cancelled -
doctors are reassessing his case.
more Monday -

Cardiac team is thinking it may be better to send me to the University of Utah for the procedure. Better Doctors. Their words, not mine. Will make a decision on Monday. Shit.... I'm going to go ride my bike today then... Aside from that leaky valve, I am in pretty good shape. They have told me I am in remarkable shape for my age. Surprised at how agile I am. Told them that's because of the snowboarding and Mountain Biking. Again they are amazed that I still can at this age. Asked questions about mobility. Can I get in and out my house safely. How many steps. Do I have guard rails. Do I use a cane or walker. DO I EVER FALL? This one I smiled at. 'Only on my mountain bike or snowboard on a rare occasion'. Hah! Still killing it!

Fuck yeah.
That’s awesome ! It’s always good to remind docs about your baseline capabilities. There was more than one occasion when my dad went in for CHF where the docs were ready to write him off until I told them he was lifting weights than morning.
