The boys on Sunday. And for God's sake turn the sound off. No one needs to hear all that heavy breathing....

    Wow, meadow skipping Heaven.
Never in U.S. history has the public chosen leadership this malevolent. The moral clarity of their decision is crystalline, particularly knowing how Trump will regard his slim margin as a “mandate” to do his worst. We’ve learned something about America that we didn’t know, or perhaps didn’t believe, and it’ll forever color our individual judgments of who and what we are.

Thinking about having a small get together up to the Ghee on Sunday, January 15th. 5 years since the big one..... so a bit of a party to celebrate life. BBQ in the lot with some burgers (elk), steak (elk) and my special fried potatoes. Perhaps a drink or two. Perhaps some other stuff. ;-)

I'll post here a day or so before hand to confirm and I'll post a shot of my outfit and location in the parking lot on the day. Start Noonish to 1ish. Y'all stop by now, ya hear? We don't bite.

Thanks! It is pretty easy to get good shots with the crew I ride with.

MINUS 25f Saturday morning. We went snowboarding.

Minus 29f Sunday morning out to Reno Point hunting elk. Trent and I saved some stranded hunters whose diesel had gelled up in their Ford pickup out in the middle of nowhere. They are lucky we found them.

Yep, Thanks! I'm still out there. And it just seems to get better every year. The skillz are just up just a notch from last year. Amazing to think that at 61 I am a better boarder now than I ever was. Skier or snowboarder. I would run circles around my younger self, it wouldn't even be close. Comes with taking advantage of every chance we get to go. WE GO. Saturday morning was one of those days. -25f and we STILL go. Best day ever.

    That is how we roll.......

Hey thanks for remembering! Unless one has read the whole thread, one might not know about that.

If anyone is interested, that story actually starts on page 15. I have copied and pasted the original post here.

'Cardiac arrest on the afternoon of January 15, 2012. Just returned from a little split-boarding in the BC with a good buddy. I walked in the front door, stood in the kitchen and then collapsed. My heart stopped. Breathing stopped. Dead on the floor. Gone in a split second. Wife was home thankfully. Dialed 911. EMT's at the door in 3 minutes. CPR and in between they took the paddles to me - 7 times in total. 4 times on the kitchen floor and 3 in the ambulance on the way to the hospital. Woke the next day, after surgery. 5 Stents.

8 days later I am home. Even returned to work, part time, the day after I left hospital. Now? Diet. Exercise also, but I was already quite active. I asked the doctor how long would it be before I can return to snowboarding.... he said "give it a week." Actually waiting for my chest / sternum / ribs to heal. Kinda sore in that area.

Many thanks to all that helped save my sorry ass. My wife, the EMTs, the doctors and nurses. Thanks to all who expressed concern, I didn't know that many people cared. Quite humbling.'

I think about it everyday. It is my reminder to live life to the fullest. I get up early, go to bed late, 'cuz I got shit to do. Like I said, I'm 61. Not going to wait till I'm 81 to do stuff, but hope to still be charging it on the slopes, on a snowboard, at that age.

I invite all of you to join me for a celebratory run on Jan 15 at Targhee, or do one for me wherever you are on that day! Get out there and do stuff!

    Enjoy life to the fullest!!

    See you on the slopes!

KC, our little local hill. I live 15 minutes away and you can find me up there, either working (part time) in the ticket office, or somewhere on the hill.

Abby (not sure how she spells it) doesn't work at the bar anymore, but Collin still grooms KC at night.

    And yes, come on over!

    Great stuff LBL,

I lost my father back in March at the age of 59, and stuff like this is really great to see. We used to go on father-son ski trips every year before I left to move CO. Cherish it!

    Many, many thanks.

Life isn't about things, we all know that. All we really have are memories. I have a lifetime of them, mostly good memories, some not so good, and some terrible. They have made me a well rounded person. I can easily chat with refined uppercrust, or the bum on the corner. I have been there. Both places. Really. I have a lot of empathy for the less fortunate. And I act on it. Helping where I can. It is how I sleep at night.

Merry Christmas to you and yours!

Going snowboarding in the morning. Snowing here at the moment, big storm coming. See you on the slopes.

I saw this the other evening, posted something about it, tried to edit it on my phone and ended up deleting it somehow. So again, wanted to say that I felt sadness, for you, for your father. I went up to KC later that night, and did a run or two in his memory.

    They were awesome runs.

This is her tonight, with grand-baby. Pure white hair with a black spot which you can see. Natural. She was going 'grey' when I met her at 26. Not bad for 60 years of age. She even learned to snowboard to be with me more in the winters. I love her. Deeply.

Everyone get out there, tear it up this holiday season and report back here next week. I'm going to.
