    Drawing/editing tablets

Ok, time for my inner geek to show. I have been drawing comics in my free time at work, and am looking at buying a drawing tablet to re-draw them in Corel, more than likely, and post them up for random people to view. Anybody have any experience with the various brands? Thanks, I am a total newb on this side of things.

No experience, but I have a like-new Wacom "Graphire-3 6x8" tablet that I will sell you for a good price. I got it as a gift about a year ago and just never used it. Actually, I took it out of the box and played around with it for an hour, but that was it.

Let me know if you're interested, and we can work something out.

    ^^ Get that. It's a great tablet.

Even if you don't get dipstik's, go with Wacom. They make great tablets for any level of user. I have the Intuos3 and love it.

The graphire should be good for comics. I use an Intuos3 at work which is amazing. It's definitely better than the consumer level tablets (like the Graphire) but they are so expensive that I don't think they're worth it unless you really need one.

^^ it's only about $100 difference between the two, but yes the difference is quite noticeable.

I have had a bunch of Wacoms. Bigger is netter and the extra buttons that you program for specific functions are ideal if you are going to be using it all the time. I have an Intuos3 9x12. It is the shiznit.

It is listed on their site for $449 which it is worth but you can get them for much cheaper if you look around online.

If you got the scratch, I would suggest the cintiq:

It is an LCD screen/tablet that you draw right on. The 21" is $2000 which is a considerable amount lower than it was a few years ago. It is WAY overkill, but isn't that always nice!
