Front Range mountain roads that are open?
I am going fucking crazy not being able to run/hike/ski/bike etc.
Anyone know of good places that I can drive to to take some pictures and cane around a little bit.

Boulder, right? Up the Canyon to Magnolia Dr. to 97 to 72 was my "I need to get out of here" drive. It's pretty, hilly, gravel about half the time, but nothing extreme at all. You could do it easily in a 2WD.
There's also some interesting stuff up Fourmile Canyon Rd, all of it is a left turn somewhere, but Logan Mill to Escape Rte is about all I can remember. It eventually comes out at Sugarloaf Rd. There's alot of private property up there, so you might go with a map.Last edited by Nathan Explosion; 05-21-2008 at 04:31 PM.

Mt. Evans and Trail Ridge are both opening Friday.
Someone said that the 4th of July TH is open too, but I'm questioning that one.

Go up sunshine canyon dr past gold hill and eventually there will be a trailhead and a parking lot. It's called switzerland trail, and you can drive on it. It's got some great views. Halfway down the trail, there's a old chimney just chillin there, the rest of the place probably got burned down. Should be a fun time in that new truck.
I took my jeep up there early last month and got it stuck in the snow, but it's probably melted by now... I took these pictures there.

Yeah, but not in a TR all by itself
Will the Mt Evans road be open even if the weather is bad, or do they close it during snowstorms? Mostly cloudy w/ chance of snowstorms tomorrow so im trying to figure out where Ill be skiing, and if the road will be closed, ill definitely have to leave way earlier to ski somewhere else, dont really wanna get up there expecting it to be open and have it not be.
