Are these guys legit? Pretty good prices, but they never returned any of my e-mails.

Legit. I ordered from them a long time ago, and the owner used to post on TTips.

Of course, he could be a meth-head now, so YMMV.

That site looks messed up, though, lots of broken links. I'd call first.

edit: randogear.com is the same peeps, and they're still a TTips sponsor.

    Thumbs up

Legit. I purchased from them last Summer. Did all communication via phone and had my purchase arrive in several days.

thanks guys. Yeah, I need a beacon to access the goods RIGHT NOW!
I think I'm sticking with moonlight for next year. No crowds, and it's got it's own hiking terrain that kicks ass.

    A word of caution...

Be careful assuming that everyone in Utah is honest. Yeah, most folks here are great people who'd give you the shirt of their back if you needed it, but there are a number of scammers who come to Utah to do business for the sole reason that people here are generally more trusting than most. That being said, I don't see any red flags coming from avalanchetools.com. Seems pretty legit to me.

Anyone have any recent dealings with these guys? Site is not secure when ordering and when I call the number, it's a machine answering for Big Mountain Sports.

Looks like they are still legit. They called me back promptly and I ordered a beacon. They have a deal that includes a free shovel, probe, or backpack if you purchase a beacon. I just received the FedEx tracking number. Free shipping in the US as well.
