what price range?
What neighborhood?
Cool as in luxo or cool as in funky or cool as in?
edit- but rontele's list is a very solid starting point.

Cool as in anything you want to throw out there (but funky is always a bonus). Budget is somewhat lenient. As for neighborhood, not real sure. Stayed in downtown Denver last year. Have been to the Cherry Creek area...again--open to suggestions. Biznass trip, but would love to hook up with some mags if I've got time.

Rontele's list is solid, but Id also add the Inverness in Englewood just because if you need to stay in that part of town, its a good location, and they have an awesome restaurant inside the hotel called Baca.
edit: and ive only eaten there, but theres the Table Mountain Inn in golden which could be cool. i dunno tho?

Hotel Monaco is sweet. Perfect if you plan on bringing the psychedelics, the wallpaper and rugs are pretty trippy. Each room has a theme and they are very dog friendly. Our room was the 1970's room, pretty cool. Don't know how expensive it was though, I wasn't paying.
I'll add that they just opened a very uninspiring Ritz Carlton downtown too.
There is nothing really in Cherry Creek worth seeking out. The JW Marriott from what I hear is exceptionally overpriced and the price is not justified.
If you're lenient on a budget, I'd suggest the Brown Palace. Its THE classic Denver hotel, has a spectacular lobby, art deco finishes, etc. Its currently going through a remodel so...some of the rooms are redone and very modern, while some remain a tad outdated (i.e., when you book your room make sure to ask for an updated room).
The Magnolia is pretty swell too, but doesn't have the charm or penache of the Brown. The rooms are well appointed, however, its in a great location, and will be cheaper than the Brown.
I've always been impressed with the Curtis too, but it is way more modern and banks on the trendy, hippster traveler for its business. It, too, has a very good location.
My wife and I stayed at the Curtis on our wedding night. We had a framed picture of Vanilla Ice in our room. I can't say for sure whether or not it affected my game at all. I want to say it didn't but it probably did. So if you think that is charming and/or you like free candy you should stay there.
I'm up for beers when you are in Denver.

The Oxford Hotel and Chophouse for dinner! Always my favorite.
Like The Curtis and The Jet. Rooms are a bit nicer/newer at The Curtis but enjoyed my stays at both.
And before you ask, for your gastronomical needs.
Also, if you're flexible on the top end, it hasn’t made the compendium yet but: French 250 is uber rad. Expect to pay 150-200/head before tip though.

oxford. Corner bar has the best happy hour in denver. When happy hour ends, go around the corner and drink martooni's at the Cruise Room. Can't go wrong.
