I'm sure he's making bank, but he's enjoyable on the radio, unlike most of those blowhards. I'd actually start listening again if he was on more.
SVP just signed a new deal too and is certainly making bank. You're right though, at least on the surface seems like a regular dude. No more radio for him in his new deal which stinks.
ROLL TIDE ROLL
We can all rest easy now... NFL training camps start next week so that's all ESPN will be covering 24/7 for the next 6 months.
Remember when it was 24/7 Brett Favre. I miss the good ol' days.
Did the last unsatisfied fat soccer mom you took to your mom's basement call you a fascist? -irul&ublo
Don't Taze me bro.
I'm as glad as the next guy that the NFL season is upon us but you'd never know it went away if you try and catch the sporting news of the day on TMZspn.
Holy fuck please stop talking about Tom Brady and the Patriots.
I still call it The Jake.
Looks like it's going into the shitter:

Losing SVP on the radio was a bummer.
I do like Coach and Co. though, and I have to admit, Lebatard has me laughing pretty often.
However, I pretty much hate Bomani Jones new program. Just put Steven A in there, he does that schtick better at least.
Live Free or Die
No more Grantland. Bullshit. I admit I didn't read it much once Simmons left, but it was still quality shit!
Some people are like Slinkies... not really good for anything, but you still can't
help but smile when you see one tumble down the stairs...
Paging Zach Lowe...
I'm going to miss Grantland. I hope Zach Lowe resurfaces somewhere - his NBA analysis is the best by far.
ESPN continues to get rid of anything good they have done and focus on what makes them horrible.
I'm not a Twitter person but I'm now following Zach Lowe on Twitter

Only thing is that those clicks didn't mKe them much, if any, money.
Not a fan of Clay Travis but this is a good read. http://www.foxsports.com/college-foo...s-media-110215
ROLL TIDE ROLL
By all accounts, Grantland lost money for ESPN. But that doesn't necessarily absolve ESPN. For one thing, Grantland provided a good product. I think one can blame ESPN for failing to be able to figure out how to make that product profitable and giving up early. Also, it's not uncommon for huge corporations like ESPN to have prestige products to heighten the brand. For example, many believe that The New Yorker is unprofitable, but Conde Nast keeps it because it adds to the brand values. ESPN is a $50 billion behemoth on which Grantland was financially little more than an ass freckle. In short, ESPN could have kept it going if was important to the company and its core values. It's wasn't. If it wasn't readily apparent, ESPN is giving up on journalism and focusing on (1) huge partnerships with the NFL and NBA and (2) low-cost shtick:

Sitting in the Delta lounge having a drink (it's after noon you pansies) and ESPN is on talking college sports. Both talking heads keep saying athELete. Nails on a fucking chalkboard. THERE'S NO EXTRA VOWEL IN THE MIDDLE OF ATHLETE.
Aren't these people supposed to be pros?
Wrong thread?
