That looks like our very own Harv. It's less than a hundred feet from his office.

See FIBArk Salida for the river fest thats goin on in background.

ed: plus, he had a TR or 2 last summer doin it.

I've done it on the methow.

big "kickboards" with handles and a hard plastic bottom.

    you wear fins. It's tiring.

    But...not room for beer.

If you can find a nice roller action continous wave....fun.

The link should be for hottie (as said previously!)...
If some of the best times of my life were skiing the UP in -40 wind chill with nothing but jeans, cotton long johns and a wine flask to keep warm while sleeping in the back of my dad's van... does that make me old school?

No, it's on small surfboards, you don't wear fins...(it would be hard to do kickflips, shove-its, and ollies with fins...)

    That's a cool idea.

I've done a sort of redneck river boarding in which one ties off to a tree and uses a piece of plywood, or whatever is readily available to surf a standing wave, or plane on the current if it's fast enough.

It usually results in swallowed water, many abrasions and a fun 30 second ride or two

I watched some guys hitting it at FIBark last year. It looked like a hoot. The amount of energy loaded up by putting the full board to the current & stretching out the bungie is amazing. Those guys just came ripping quite a distance upstream when they flipped the board into planing position...

that picture on the homepage is from right downstream of my office. but I have never tried one of these Banshee Boards.

We did a lot of board surfing in standing waves last summer. that was my tr. http://www.tetongravity.com/forums/s...ht=river+waves

i do think these banshee boards look super fun. especially in a flatter river, with current, but little whitewater. I am going to try it this summer once things get low.....in, like, october...
