Things to do in Worcester (Ma) when you are dead

My wife is up here for a conference and from what i see about this town, particularly the "Crown Royal Plaza", it sucks. What can I do w/in a 10-20 mile radius?

Buy an abandoned warehouse, insure it, then burn it down. No one will notice.

Well, I would have said kill yourself, but the thread title suggests that you are already dead.

Seriously? Take the train to Boston.

Take this moment.....look around.....and be thankful that you don't live here.

    Then drink the scotch. Lots.

Get to Framingham and start another 20 mile drive to Boston?

You could get to Mohegan Sun in an hour if the casino in the middle of no where appeals (then again you are at the epi-center of nowhere already).

Even Spags ain't what it used to be.

See if someone can get you out onto Worcester Country Club. It's going to be 70 tmmw.

    That is all ..

Mountain bike in Northboro....check out Bob Cousy's house...check out the Greendale Mall...ok, face it, take the train to Boston. Seriously.

I like Worcester, fuck you snobs. It's got character.

And if you don't like it, it's only like 35 miles to Boston. Take Rte 9 and you will hit Framingham in like 13 miles. Lotsa malls there. No character at all. You might like it better than something real like Worcester.

Fuck, it ain't Lowell or Haverhill or Fall River, lighten up, boys.

What's wrong with Haverhill? There's a robust beaver population and Casa de Fior is one of the top reception venues near the north shore.

Fall River has Battleship Cove, for chrissake. And a bunch of Portegee. Can't compare that to Worcester.

Worcester's where I accidentally saw a Yes concert in 1990. Girl on my hall asked me if I'd like to see Yes and without thinking I replied that I would--a month later she's asking me for $35. I had no idea she was asking if I'd like to buy tickets to a show in Worcester.
They had a cool revolving stage at the Centrum though, and a long drum solo.

If he were in Lowell, at least he could catch a Spinners game.

Phish isn't playing and his wife probably wouldn't appreciate it if he went over to Holy Cross to hit on the Catholic school girls. There isn't that much to do in the town.

Do you play disc golf, Phil? I think WPI has a course.

My bad, I meant to say Lawrence, Fitchburg and Leominster.

It's amazing how confused I get at this age.

Sorry, I guess I shouldn't say that to a guy who just put another click on the odometer.

Don't forget Lunenberg. That place blows, although I did once buy a decent used car there.

If some of the best times of my life were skiing the UP in -40 wind chill with nothing but jeans, cotton long johns and a wine flask to keep warm while sleeping in the back of my dad's van... does that make me old school?

Worcester is the home of Spitjack: www.spitjack.com

It's a "real mans" BBQ site with everything you need from pig roasting to grilling in your fireplace:

Also there's a sewing/knitting convention this weekend my wife is talking about, a few museums over by WPI and Clark University. Have fun...

there are some good steak places, you can go wander around the WPI campus. There is an art museum that has some pretty cool stuff. There are some really good bakeries... you could go ski at Mt. Wachusett. You could sit on your left hand till it goes numb then masterbate.

Wear a Yankee cap and seek out the most local of local bars to get wasted in.
