Apologies if I missed it but has Hot for Teacher been mentioned? That intro kicks ass.

"Cowgirl in the Sand" is a great call. That first huge chord feels like there's a giant wave breaking over you.

My Morning Jacket's "One Big Holiday" gets me pretty jacked and pumped, too.

i've always been partial to Def Leppard's "Rock of Ages."

the whole "unta-gunta-gleeben" (or whatever the hell the dude is saying) jibberish is classic, like a muppet talking with a mouth full of meds.

I like how Van Morrison's Gloria (and every other version, I suppose) basically jumps right into the song's rhythm. It's like you caught it a few seconds after some really exciting intro.

He's got a lot of good intros.
Remind me. We'll send him a red cap and a Speedo.

I've loved the funky, totally weird beginning intro to ELO's Fire on High. Goosebumps.

Need some old classics in here too.

Chuck Berry - Johnny B. Goode

I can't remember what songs they were, but I do remember picking up the needle on the 45's and starting the songs over and over again when I was little. I just digged those old intros. Prolly was stuff like The Monkeys, maybe some Beatles...

I saw part of some show on PBS last nite about a bunch of groups from the sixties. Lotta those old songs had masterful intros.

I'm late to the party here so allot of my favorites have already been mentioned but this has to rank right up there; short, sweet, simple and so damn jealous I didn't write this riff myself.

This song could start another category as well “best interlude”

"Do the interns get Glocks ? "

Joe Walsh - criminally underrated guitar genius.

Actually Ravel wrote the interlude for The Bomber. I like it better as part of Joe's song than as part of Bollero though.

Funk 49 (off the same album) had a very memorable, if short intro.
