I am a Liberal Democrat, and I own guns because of that maniac drunk president you call Dubya. Talk about the very definition of "tyrannical government", that dude is it. Yes, we have guns over here too.

I agree. George W. Bush is a tyrant.

The gun-nuts think the Democrats are out to get their guns.

The reality is that a tyrant like Bush is far more likely to declare martial law and confiscate your guns than any Democrat is.

Bush is a drunk. And he is going to behave like a cornered rat as the election gets closer, and it becomes clear that Obama is going to be our next president.

He may not be able to take away your guns, but he can take away your ability to purchase ammo. Anyone tried to buy any .223 ammo lately ? Holy shit !

Proof that even aliai can be gay. The .223 reference is what gave you away - every good librodouche has no idea what .223 or 5.56 is or why is more expensive/more scarcerer now.

    Hi Jer,

Yes, I am a Democrat. And I voted for Obama. I guess that makes me a "librodouche".

And I am a veteran of the United States Army. Charlie Company of the 75th Infantry.

Question for you Jer, which branch of the military did you serve in ? Or are you a yellow-bellied coward who never served his country, but calls veterans like me a "librodouche" ?

    Happy Memorial Day, Jer

WTF is that? No vet that I know would put down their unit like that. If you really are from that unit give me more details like when you went through RIP?

from when I was in the navy:

Phalanx CIWS (pronounced sea-wizz). Fired 4500 rounds per second... when they are firing they sound like... well they sound like 4500 rounds per second haha. Tungsten rounds too.

Just a couple of hornets and a seahawk.

little bit of practice. I wish I had been a pilot.

Sea sparrow launchers with the San Juans and a Coast Guard escort in the background. I only saw these fire once, and I waited for an hour to get a shot, but of course I was looking the other way when they fired and the missile was lost in the mist before I even turned back around. The technology is getting pretty damn old though.

I owned a CZ75 many (many, many) years ago and am considering that as well. And maybe the Smith M&P series, which is less expensive (about $150 less) than the Kahr.
Kahr has had a QC problem in the last few years. I've heard of quite a few Kahrs that have gone back to the factory once, twice, or even three times to fix persistent failures to eject. For as expensive as they are, they really should work better.

But they are flat, flat guns and conceal well.

The CZ-75 compacts are nice guns with a long long track record as inexpensive, accurate, and reliable guns that will run tens of thousands of rounds. The M&P is a new gun, but the reaction has been mostly positive.

I have the P01 as well. Stone reliable, very ergonomic, low bore axis for low recoil, and a good value.

Don't forget that it can be fitted with an excellent .22LR conversion slide called the Kadet, which turns it into an accurate and reliable .22LR plinker.

My fingers don't fit the Glock 19 but you may want to look at that pistol too.

I also suggest Springfield XD's... BUT it all is moot if you aren't comfortable with it. Try a bunch and go with what you like the most!

.243's are pretty flat. I've got a Tikka .22-250 (pictures earlier in this thread) but it's finicky (pretty much manditory hand loads and a pain in the ass to get the formula right) and the wind plays a big part past about 500 yds. I've heard this from pretty much every other guy who shoots a .22-250 as well. Once you get it dialed, it's a hammer. 308's really don't hurt that much and it's the universal long-range target caliber. I've never shot a .270, but I wouldn't think it would be that much different as far as recoil than a .308.

I'd get the 243 or 308. The 243 is nothing more than the 308 necked down to fit a 6mm bullet. Both burn less powder than the 270 and consequently have less recoil and muzzle blast. If you're wanting a long range rig you can get heavy bullets with high ballistic coefficients in both .243 and .308 caliber (though you may want to get a barrel with a faster twist with the heavy .243 bullets), but if you want to shoot lighter bullets at faster velocities then the 243 is the only way to go.

You should keep an eye open for a Howa 1500. It has the same action as the Vanguard with a different stock and it doesn't have the name Weatherby on it, so they're generally cheaper. Howa barrels are of good quality too- I've read they're probably as good as or slightly better than Remington. Brand new some models cost as low as $400. Tikka's are good guns too.

Rough rule of thumb is that the optics on a gun should cost as much as the rifle. Good scope is worth the money in the long run.

Hey genius - I was actually saying that you couldn't possibly be a true libdouche if you reference a caliber. Real libdouches don't know the first thing about icky guns. And Democrats aren't necessarily librodouches. I voted for Obama in the primary too, and I'm no librodouche.

As for the rest of your post - bullshit.

    bump for the SCOTUS ruling.

As soon as I get a digicam I'll post a pick of the new AK.

The old one drowned (the digicam, that is - AK's can't drown).
