Here's a list an RKI came up with looking at the pics. There are a couple more pics floating.

No MG-42's (that we saw). Here's a link to a vid of the one I used to have. It was a .308 with a slow fire conversion ordered by the Italians.

Nice vid.. I actually meant FG-42 but mis-typed it.

The MG-42 is a nice, M60 is very similar to it strangely enough. They copied a good design I believe the German

Quite an impressive collection.

The modern German MG3 is basically a re-chambered MG42.

Booyah! Our Governor just signed a bill allowing Kansan's to buy NFA arms now! Finally, up to speed with our neighbors! Now I need to save.... a LOT. SBR's were legal before, but now I can get a silencer!

I sorta though the .50 with the belt in it was just for looks, but then I noticed how its pointing right at the door. EDIT< thats not the door, its his own privatee underground pistol range. Huh.

I bet thats the "home defense" gun, just hole up there and point that thing out and no ones coming in there.

Jeebus.

Gotta love the BARs, the mp44s and all the mg's, but I would have more FALS, M14s, mp5s, and a few of the swiss 550/1/2s, not to mention some shotties.

Grenade launchers too, those are pretty practical.

9mm = 18 cents a round.
.22LR = 2.2 cents a round.

This means you can practice for less.

I shoot probably 10x the .22LR rounds through my CZ 75 that I do 9mm.

This means:
Glock
1911
Browning High Power
Beretta 92
CZ-75

And I know the guy in YetiMan's clip. He was shooting .50BMG at a 2" steel cube at 100 yards.

The 226s are good guns, decently reliable but blocky. The bore axis is high, so you get a lot of muzzle flip in a Sig. You might like a CZ-75. The Sig I had would start to fail to lock up after about 600 rounds of no cleaning, which is only a little over half of a good combat pistol class of 1000 rounds. New recoil springs didn't help. Not good. A Glock or a CZ in my experience will run for thousands of rounds without being lubed or cleaned. That's reliability.

Secondly, don't listen to the .45 vs. 9mm crap. Realize that all handguns suck at stopping people, and that the best caliber is one you can shoot accurately and quickly. Even a .357 mag, considered the premier manstopper, is severely outclassed by a rifle too weak to legally hunt deer with. John Browning's personal gun was a little .32ACP.

PM me if you want more information.

Thnaks for the beta. Good stuff.

As mentioned one of the reasons I got rid of the 45 was the cost of rounds and accuracy, whne I shot the 9 in the same gun it was a different pistol alltogether. I'll hvae to do more research and try to get a few more in hand and see what feels right.

The gun room in that picture is ridiculous, thats wall to wall fun.

Marvel Precision is the mac-daddy of all 1911 .22 rimfire conversions. Super accurate and well built. http://marvelprod.com/

I have several 1911's. A great platform. My competition gun is a custom built STI 2011 in .38 Super. 1911 platform, but with a wide body grip for extra ammo.

Beware, there is a company called Ciener that makes .22 conversions, guy is a total ass-hat. Forever to deliver product, no customer service.

I shot that Kahr pm40 the other day. Shot pretty well, didn't kick as bad as expected. I jammed a round on the third shot and the trigger pull is too long for my tastes.

How's Sweden's military work, is it like Switzerland where active duty and reserves keep full auto weapons in the closet at home?

any of you have experiences/opinions on tacstar vs speedfeed vs pachmayr? I want a pistol grip for a shotgun.

While we're at it, how about firedragon pistol barrels?

Is that what you use while in "lumpen"? Same as we (the norwegian army, not myself - haven´t been drafted for a couple of years) use the AG3 in Norway (HK 416 on its way), I guess.

I want to get a 7.62 next. What are some of the better AK-style rifles? Or should I just get an AR-15 style in 7.62? I don't want to spend a ton of cash, I'm not looking for 1 MOA accuracy and I'm not planning on mounting 15 accessories on multiple picatinny rails. I just want something dependable, fairly accurate and not super spendy in a 7.62. Suggestions?

Assuming your talking about 7.62 x 39 (Soviet) not 7.62 x 51 (.308).

7.62x39 in the AR-15 package is not great. Caliber works fine, problem is finding trouble-free mags. Most that work are hand crafted using a steel AR-15 mag then cutting and welding a AK mage to it; called Frankenmags.

Arsenal Incorporated www.arsenalinc.com makes one of the better AK rifles these days. That would be my choice. Avoid a Century AK at all costs. Next option if you are somewhat talented is to buy a parts kit, pick up the required US manufactured pieces, by an $80 receiver and rivet kit, and build your own. Nodakspud.com is the choice receiver righ tnow. (North Dakota Spuds) Lots of good how to websites. I've got a bunch of kits, but haven't gotten around to doing it yet.

Mine was an impulse buy, i've been told there are better options then firedragon but mines fine. (Conversion barrels can be purchased directly from sig.) Don't expect to just drop it in though, expect to need some custom fitting, if you aren't comfortable doing this then expect to go to a gunsmith. If it's a different caliber, you will need to get a new spring to match. Also using a 9mm magazine in a 40 cal system has some minor flaws. after that, it works as advertised, My very first shot with it was a pinwheel.

I think he's the only guy who makes a .357sig barrel for a S&W Sigma .40, so trying to figure everything out before I decide to buy the gun or barrel. Think I will buy the whole mess and take it straight to a gunsmith to get barrel fitted and do the trigger work before it even comes out of the box.
Thanks for the input!

No I am not here to cunt up the thread. I just have a question for the gun nuts, and for the first time in a while, I am not trying to start shit. So, the local fly fishing guides around here have taken to carrying shotguns for bears, a la Alaska style. I usually have a .45 LC that I pack with me, simply for noise, but have been thinking for awhile about doing the whole shotgun route. Probably 12 gauge, I think my old 16 clay gun would be too small, and it is too nice to mess up converting. I would like a folding stock, short barrel, easy to sling across back, easy to swing forward and accurate enough that if I point it in the general direction, Mr. Griz gets a face full. Most guys around here alternate between buckshot and slugs: One round shot, one slug, one shot, etc. Good idea? The bears around here have been getting more and more aggressive, and I have heard stories, no bullshit, of people unloading a whole can of pepper spray, and the bear keeps coming. Any ideas? It's either bigger boom, or no fishing in the high country. Thanks.

Sounds like a really good idea if the spray is not working. I would probably put the slug as the first shot just for a bit more accuracy (unless you are just going for the noise factor).

How short of a barrel are you wanting and why? Just asking because I don't know shit about grizzlies and how close they have to be before you determine they are being aggressive and not turning away. We just have black bears here and they generally run from noise.

I dunno, just something that is short enough to be able to be swung around on my back, so I can still cast. I think minimum here is 16 inches, but I could very well be wrong.
