Tram & Lifts had me put "open Friday, Saturday, Sunday until Memorial Day, and possibly beyond..." on www.snowbird.com.
Man Snowbird sucks...![]()
I'm gonna look like a fool for telling people Memorial Day. but that's OK, 'twould be nice to see another July 4th'er.![]()
So what are the hiking possibilities during May and beyond? Everything open or everything regulated like during the regular season?
Errrr... Everything open AND regulated... just like normal.
As I recall... you will need to check in with Patrol, show them your shovel, beacon and probe and then you're free to go. Except Patrol usually closes the gates at around noon to avoid people getting into hairy situations with wet slides.
Unless you're talking about hiking up from the bottom. Then I have no idea what the policy is except that I don't think they care when the lifts aren't spinning.

Thanks for the info. Keep it coming and put in a good word for letting us ski off the tram when it reopens. There is going to be snow around for a while!
PS. Nice pic today. Great form, what do you call that trick? I only ask cause I think I pulled the same one today.
It looks like they extended the closing date to June 1st and decided to open up Little Cloud. http://www.snowbird.com/ski_board/spring.html

This new schedule is WAY BETTER than the old one. Glad the powers at the Bird are listening. Or maybe they just got out for some skiing on sat/sunday and realized how good the snow was up high and how sloppy it got down low. I do prefer riding chairs to the tram when its nice and sunny out, but peruvian was just too low.
This schedule definetly makes the best of the situation without the tram.
Glad to see someone realized that June 1st was sunday. For a while the site said Monday June 1st the resort would be closed.
Now lets just hope they chose to reopen for 4th of July.
PS. last thursday was a great fairwell party for the season!
Today was fun. I went because I thought it would be funny to ski on what looked like the crappiest day of the season, but it ripped. 2 inches of cement on top of 5 inches of slush, sounds awful but was a blast. Now if only the powers at the bird would change the hours of operation from 8-2 to 11-5.
