Where can I get size 47-48 climbing shoes?

The largest anyone seems to carry is a 45. I found a Five Ten in 46.5 but it was just as small as the La Sportiva 45. Ditto American sizes, they only go up to 12.

Any other people out there with yeti feet who can help me?

How big are your feet? I wear 12.5-13 in US street shoe, but for climbing the largest size I would wear is a 12. My first pair of shoes was an unlined pair of 12.5s, which immediately stretched out and got all loose and floppy on my feet. In other words, are you sure you'll need a size 13+? Most shoes will stretch a bit, even lined ones; and you want your shoes to be snug... at the very least.

That said, 5.10 and La Sportiva do make US13/Eur 48 sized shoes. But not many stores stock them. TP gets a few pairs in bigfoot sizes every season; send them an e-mail and see what they got in stock. A quick check of their website sez they carry the following shoes in gargantuan sizes. (US 13, UK 12, Eur 48)

    - 5.10 anasazi lace-up / velcro / SW / Mesa
    - 5.10 Ascent
    - La Sportiva Mythos
    - Red Chili Voodoo
    - Boreal Zen and Laser
    - Mad Rock Mugen

Of course, all this is no help if you need to try on lots of shoes to figure out what you want.

That'd be my recommendation. I've had a pair of Mythos for years. They're durable, mine have been resoled several times. They climb well, good all around shoe. Fit em tight but not too tight, they don't stretch much.

Arrow Gary Mekan could even outfit Vlade Divac's feet. Or even MirCat's.

If'n you can't find anything in your size off the shelf, you could always get this guy to cobble you up a custom pair.

Sort of pricey, but with the usual repairs and resolings, you could prolly get a decade's worth of use out of them, easy.

I've got a pair. Got them one full US size down from my size, and after 4 outings they're just nice. Couldn't get myself to wear 1 1/2 size down, hurts too much just standing in them, and I didn't want to go through that pain. They're laced so you can adjust the fit well after they stretch.

They stretch a lot (unlined leather), people say between 1 and 1 1/2 sizes. BobMC, are you sure they're the ones you had?

Oh, and REI is selling them right now for $89 instead of $120. That alone is worth trying to see if they'll fit you. They're great all-around shoes.

I am now breaking in a pair of size 46 Mythos. Had to mail-order because REI doesn't carry that size, but still got them for $100 on sale.

www.mountaingoatoutfitters.com hooked me up, and appears to have nailed the sizing. Fit is very tight but not painful until about 30 minutes in; there's over an inch of laces in the center to tighten up as they stretch. Plus they're lavender: so hot right now.

    Thanks for the recommendations, all.

Watch out, if your feet are sweaty they might turn purple in those puppies. Don't freak out the first time it happens.

I am a rock JONG, having just started this year. If you're OK with that, I am definitely up for some bouldering or top-roping.
