    Interior Camper Shell Ski Rack?

Saw a great idea for a ski rack on the inside of a camper shell. Drove past some guy at Bogus putting skis into his shell, but instead of on the bed of the pickup he put them in a compartment attached to the "roof" of the shell. Looks like it was a piece of plywood with some 2x2s nailed to it to keep the skis from sliding around.

I've been trying to figure out how to do this without drilling a bunch of holes through the fiberglass. I've already had a carpet kit raised bed attachment, but I didn't like it because it rendered the bed useless for other dirt/bike/equipment hauling.

Seems like a great idea to keep the usable space of the bed useful for roadtrips.

    Any ideas?

You could skip the whole upper frame and just use 2 loops of cord mounted front and rear. I would think with a couple of cam straps you could rig a very efficient setup. That, or some l brackets or big hooks mounted to the sides up high with a voile strap cinch.

Wonder if you could size the plywood to go wall to wall and use some gorilla or other uberglue to glue it to the topper sides, plus a few 1x1 uprights/supports coming up from the rails to support it. I'm with ya on not wanting to drill a bunch of holes in the glass...

Specifically look at the topper brackets.

That's pretty clever. I wonder how much head room is lost though. Would hate to sit up and...."D'oh." Cool idea.

So that pic got me thinking. I decided to copy the idea but turn it on the side a little bit. A couple hours later....

The insulation was a previous ghetto project, but its working well to distribute the skis' weight.

Props on the set up. Not so sure about your beverage choice though.
