Thumbs down What am I supposed to do NOW at work??

Well, between 7am today and right this very fucking second, work blocked the TGR forums. For two years, I've enjoyed reading the stoke here when work just sucked and I wanted to be somewhere else.

I knew this day was coming, because first they blocked YouTube, then pretty much all the picture-hosting sites that people put pics on for their TRs were blocked. Now, they've even stripped me of my text-based browsing of the forums.

I'm reduced to reading the TGR forums on my Blackberry..which I can't even have on me where I work either. Guess I'll have to start taking smoke breaks...or should I say, "stoke" breaks.

    Fucking work.

Yeah I noticed on our company's squid logs that TGR is kinda a high bandwidth site... Really stood out from other sites that I visit with the same regularity.

    tick tick boom

    My days are numbered.
You tube went on the hostile list a month ago.

you know company starts to suck when they make clandestine IT moves.

I also noticed on the boss's outlook calendar a meeting with "work care" regarding drug testing.

Can they just spring those tests on you, or do they have to have written policies.

one way or another, when a company does shit like that......

    makes for shitty working circumstances

Setup SSHD on your home computer and use it as a SOCKS v5 proxy in Firefox. IT won't even see DNS requests coming from your browser. They will see a shit ton of traffic tunneled to your home computer on port 22 IF they look. They probably wont care though as they are most likely just obeying orders from above.

Done that, told the boss that there was a $20 bill in the last stall...he was NOT impressed.

So far the only solution that I can figure out is using LogmeIn.com. Apparently they can't filter any SSL traffic (port 443), so I can use Firefox and the LogMeIn Firefox extension to get to my home computer, then surf the forums from there. Kind of a roundabout way to do it, but shit...I need this place...

    That's a good idea!

Is this what you're talking about? If so it's pretty explicit directions on how to set up SSHD:
