Aspen Extreme is Dumb and Dumber

Since there is another thread about Aspen Extreme and South Park this came to mind. When the Farrelly brothers wrote Dumb and Dumber they had to have been watching Aspen Extreme. Try it out. Watch Aspen Extreme and then watch Dumb and Dumber. There are so many scenes, lines and camera shots that are straight out of Aspen Extreme. It is hilarious, even more so than it already is.

Lets begin with the scene were our heros are welding chairlifts in the midwest and decied they need to get out of their dead end jobs and into a place where they can meet women and get into the social scene.....cut to them driving in the van over a hill with music playing....

Aspen Extreme does have lots of similarities with Dumb and Dumber... Except Dumb and Dumber was WAY more realistic! I mean really... A gaper (TJ Burk) moves to the Rockies from a trash pile in Michigan and quickly starts schooling all the locals on their own terrain? He beds down the towns biggest cougar and then ends up with the sweet, albeit bitter, native hottie? Within a few months he's the town hero and his friend becomes a crack-head in like two or three weeks?! Instructors are viewed with respect? Hilarious!!

Within a few months he's the town hero, but unfortunately, his best friend (Dexter Rutecki) gets caught up in a bad crowd, aided by a bullshit work suspension, and gets into some bad shit. He bounces back though, only to meet a tragic fate. Instructors are viewed with respect, as it's a different time and place in skiing. Sweet movie!!

My best friend's grandma is an extra in the fundraiser/bird killing scene, she's the silver haired lady in the evening gown behind the two idiots in the middle of the ballroom floor. That scene was filmed at Park City.

Fuck that, I'm buying it on DVD! Picked up Hotdog last September...my god I forgot how funny/stupid that movie is too.

Got both, but now I'm looking for "Ski Patrol"!! "Out Cold", with the expception of it being a knuckledragger movie, has some great "80's flic-style" moments. Love it... The pass-out guy is the best -- polar bear love, hot tub love, car pass-out...good stuff!!

NO BAGGING on Aspen Extreme - it's above reproach!!
