    Dakine Heli-pro or Camelbak Menace?

trying to decide between the two packs. Two things that the camelbak has over the dakine, it includes the hydration bladder and it has a padded mp3 pocket.

Sell me on one or the other based on

1.size(need something that will fit on the chairlift easy)
2.style (gotta look good on the slope)
3.comfort(will i notice it while im skiing?)

    thanks

I use the DAKINE Tram Backpack. Thin profile, 100 oz bladder, and holds both a shovel and probe. Check it out...

My brother has the menace. Looks pretty nice and according to him its pretty comfortable. I got the Dakine Heli-Pack and it might be the most comfortable pack I've ever had. The one thing I'd say the heli-pro has over the menace would be durability. The ski carry straps and overall materials look a bit cheaper on the menace than the heli pro.

Ideal pack specifically for in bounds hike to terrain?
It's gotta carry skis well and strap them on quick and easy. Room for tons of gear just means you fall off the chair. Sandwich, cellphone, small camera, balaclava. Water bladder...maybe a perk.
    Dakine?
    Camelbak?
    Osprey?
    Indigo G-String?

FWIW, BCA stash fits all my stuff (barely) and fits on a lift well. Includes 70oz bladder.
    No longer stuck.

I have last year's Menace that I never used, shrinkwrap still on the bite valve and tags still on it. I'll see if I can find it, and I'll sell it to you for $40 shipped.

    PM me if interested.

stuckathuntermtn: Is that the Stash or the Stash BC? How quick on and off for skis? A-Frame or diaganol?

Coreshot-tourettes: Does that thing carry skis well? What is the waist belt like?

I have used the Dakine Heli Pro for... 7 seasons(~350 days!) and it's still going strong. Oh, and I use it all summer for biking. Only signs of wear is that it's starting to fade from black to brown.

Stash, not stash BC. Diagonal. Not super fast. It's 2 Velcro straps. But you can take them out and make the skis go in the other direction if you choose. I need to try leaving the bottom loose, and tightening just the top, but that would only work if I get a ski that's not twinned. (we'll see what Nordica sends back from my warranty). Actually, if you have twins, having the velcro on the bottom is pretty quick, since you don't have to separate the skis to force them in there.
BC does Aframe as well, and has a little more room, but is still low profile enough to fit on a lift. Has a bigger bladder and a nice shovel-blade pocket.
    No longer stuck.

I'm an in-bounds ski-carrying hiking jong, but I got the Menace about a month ago and I have no complaints about how the skis fit. I strapped on a pair of 183 Gots and didn't have a problem. The waist strap is just fine too. For $40, you can't go wrong.
