I was working on top of a 11k' pass in Colorado today when a guy pulled over to ask if I knew anywhere good to go fishing in the area. It took me a minute, thinking, before I said "There is a lake down the street, but you are gonna have to drill through the ice." He said "Oh, they are all frozen?" uh.... yeah bud... I was so confused, then I laughed.

For the record, I also think that fishermen are idiots. All of em.

The fish think so to. They certainly thought I was. I could see them laughing.

Back when the Sierra Sun posted police reports there did seem to be a lot more boards stolen than for skis. And certains locations (Donner Ski Ranch and Boreal) were favored. A lot of stolen skis are when someone takes the wrong skis off the rack by mistake. Particulary skis favored by the elderly.

Fleurizard told police he had been in Park City, Utah, for a snowboarding trip and “needed to get home to see his family,”

I don't know how to post the video (I'm a gaper myself), but how about the guy saving a parking spot on a powder day at Sunday River.

Yesterday at DV on shuttle. Gaper: "How do you like those binders?" (referring to my P15). Me: "They are good clamps." Gaper: "I heard they suck because the heels turn and it makes them hard to get back into when you fall and the heel is turned." Me: "I've never had that problem"

That guy is something else. Hey, at least he had his big adventure skiing that wild snow and didn't get busted. Everything in perspective.

The stolen pole, blowing the yellow snowmaking ‘powder’ out of his mouth, the incredible narration, the wrecks, patrol accusing them of the crime of poaching, so much winning.

On Saturday at Mt Bachelor, an inebriated guest blowing chunks from the chair leaned too far forward and fell out.

50ft Swan dive to the snow.

Patrol had to stop their sled ride to the clinic so guest could blow more chunks.

    No broken bones

After watching so many gopro vids of decent skiers skiing decent runs, I've come to the conclusion that I'd waaaay rather watch gapers ski than anything else. This guy's narration is entertaining as well, and I know it's kind of cringey and gaperish but he's just a kid and in 7 years I bet he rips and says cool shit all the time just like the rest of us.

The crossed skis and frequent releases are exciting! And you could totally tell his adrenaline was pumping when they skied over that rope.

"If this were out west" (hmmm okay) "in Vermont or New Hampshire" (wait, what) "I'd be forced to arrest you." (why are ski patrollers always so full of shit?)
