What to do in Golden, B.C. at night (what bars, etc?)

Hey all, heading off to Golden in an hour or so for the weekend. Anyone have any advice on what bars to check out Sat night? NOt sure really what is in the town. I know it is a truck stop.

Any help would be awesome!

I know there's a strip club where they get a new stripper every monday (Fresh Meat Monday's). I talked to some locals when I was there, they all said the nightlife is nothing to rave about, other than the couple pubs there are. There was a cool lounge-ish place downtown, can't remember the name though.

The Golden Taps seems to have an OK scene. Certainly no nightclub but should be fun.

Fresh Meat Monday, famous all over the interior at least as far south as Lost Trail Pass, MT/ID border.

The "Fresh Meat Monday" place is called the Roadhouse, can be an interesting time and worth a look.

Golden Taps is a good bar on main street, as is Packers. Both have live music from time to time. The Taps just got renovated and is pretty fun. Behind the Taps near the footbridge is the Riverhouse, little more of a metal type bar, still can be super fun. There are a couple other places, but those should give you a good start.

I showed up last year on a Thurs, downtown was basically dead that evening. I think it was Golden Taps that I stopped in for a bite to eat and a chat with a couple KH employees. Go to bed early and be on the moutain first thing.

I go to bed early to get to the hill early.
But I sometimes hear people going home drunk and stupid from Mad Trappers pub!

Just spent a weekend there. Not much goin on. The place I stopped for a brew was downtown, next to a ski/bike/coffee shop. It was alright, had a couple of DJ's playin. The pub at the base of the gondola had some good food and drink, but the best was hanging out in the hot tub of the Rondo motel listening the the exploits of the albertan sled heads, and their girls that tagged along... ha.

hey all, thanks for the replies. I just got back and I actually liked it. It was a nice chill scene without all the idiot punks. The Roadhouse was really funny.. there was a dog running around inside the bar.

We did a pub crawl one of the nights and had a great time.
