    HELP 08 Gotama mount

So I searched through all of the threads about this and could not come up with a good consensus on where to mount these. I have a pair of 183 06/07 the (red/white) ones mounted on the FR line and love them. I just purchased a pair of 190 07/08 (gold) and they do not have a FR line only a Boot center X. I would like to mount these on what would be the equivalent of the 06/07 FR mark. So is the "boot center X" the old FR line? Thanks!

The X seemed really far back on the two pairs of gold gotama's i owned, I went +1 on pair#1 and +2 on pair #2 and I would rather error on being back... +2 felt way better but i may have even settled @ +3.... with that said,

The best thing to do (which I did on my sumo's) is a direct comparison to your gotamas you love...

Make marks @ the end of the running length on tips and tails of both skis (it doesn't really matter where you perceive this to be as long as you are consistent).
From here, measure the total running length of your old Gotama's + the tip-boot center length and tail-boot center length. Divide each of these by total length to get %tip/%tail
Get the total running length of your new got's multiply by %tip (as a decimal) of old ones and measure from your tip mark on your new ones to get the boot center line equivilent to your old got's.

For more info search titles for the Katana mounting thread and see spats post, and this above description is more thoroughly explained in my thread on Sumo mounting.

Mine (07/08) are mounted on the boot center X (rear most mark). They are a powder ski after all, so why would anyone want to mount more forward? I went through the same debate about where to mount, in the end, I'm more than happy I went with the rear most mark. If I wanted easier turning on the groomers, I'd be skiing something else besides the Goats.

Although they were once a true powder ski, IMO the Got is more of an all mountain offering if you are on the left side of the country.

With that said if you are using it as a true powder ski, I too would go with the recommended X

Coldsmoke: I took your advise and figured out the percent of the rear mark compared to the total lenth. The 183 and 190 came in at about the same for the "boot center" and "freeride" marks. Also I measured the boot center marks on both and they checked in at the same. Maybe volkl is getting better with the top sheets. Another interesting thing was that on the platic covering the skis there was a sticker that said Germany on it while my 06/07 models said china? Thanks for the help everyone.
