A lesson on skiing Praxis?
I tried search. I must not be clever enough if there's something posted.
I picked up a pair of Praxis and will be mounting Dukes so I can ski them in my Scarpa Spirit 3 boots with Tornado tongues.
I feel a bit out of sync because I haven't done much skiing for the past 20 years, since taking up snowboarding (riding alpine / carving style - hard boots and steep angles). Last year I bought a pair of long Bro's (100mm underfoot) and mounted Dynafit bindings on them. I'll probably be skiing on those most of the time, and on the Praxis on powder days. I've not had a ski lesson since taking up boarding. I have had lots of snowboard race lessons and camps. And I race my board 8-12 times/ season in a beer league.
I intend to take some lessons with our ski school over Xmas break, which should give me better visuals on what to do, and instant feedback. But I'd love to hear from anyone with decent suggestions on how I might want to approach skiing both these skis, but especially the Praxis. One other wrinkle: I have very bad knees. Basically no cartilage. Skiing hurts my knees markedly more than boarding does. But this season I'm committed to skiing a whole bunch of days. I got Cortizone shots in both knees today which will help lessen my recovery time. Any tactics for minimizing the impact on knees would be of interest. I wear knee braces on both knees (DonJoy R and CTI2 L). I think I like the new DonJoy, but still getting used to it.
So, what you got? Other than "Search Jong." Thanks in advance.

In any case, if you're ever really in this situation make sure you at least bargain in a couple of fluffers.
