    Light...

As skiers, we are privy to some of nature's most dramatic -and sublime- displays of light.

    From cloud breaks...

    To sunrises...

    To the absence of light...

    To light catching wind...

To the brilliance of the day...

    To the end of one...

It's a rare thing, what we do, what we see, what we are, who we become.

nowhere near the quality of the others, but I really liked the light in this one when I took it. I missed the sun by about 5-10 minutes.

Really like the first one. Makes me feel like I'm in a chopper flying over the mountains.

    Thumbs up

    Great topic!

This is probably one of my favorite things about skiing: nature's lightshows. Don't have any good shots to post here, but wish I could share some "light moments" stored in my brain...

You know it's a good thread when the maggots or yester-year come out of hiding to post.

You're right Particle, we see some amazing things relative to light. Cool to see that of the images you posted I was there for at least 1/2 of them.

I took this one while on the way to cat skiing in the Uintas a few years ago. This photo does it little justice to how amazing the light was. It think it was trying to tell me something because a few years after this photo I bought a house down there in the valley where it is illuminated.

    Love that innsbruck shot.
That city doesn't get enough love for being surrounded by all those mountains. I was blown away when I first went there!

Remember that Firefox has problems with color profiles...causing desaturation. Most of these photos will look way better in Safari or IE or something besides FF. I'm hoping FF3 fixes this.
