Colorado Weather Discussion Thread
Walk or bike in the canyon from Golden to the end of the new bike path. If you’re walking, cross the river on a suspension bridge then walk back on the Welch Ditch trail. It’s really cool. https://www.hikingproject.com/trail/...ch-ditch-trail

What GB said. Also just taking a walk through downtown and on the river trail on a nice day is quite pleasant. For more of a hike, depending if trails are dry (likely going to be a bit with the current weather):
-Apex Park (on an odd number calendar day for best hiking experience, even days are bike priority)
-Mt. Falcon
-Mt. Galbraith (hiker only)

Fuck that place. You will probably have two wrecks to deal with in your first 4 miles. Than 70 will probably be closed. You will be lucky to get to your condo by 4.

The School of Mines has a free museum that is a decent way to kill an hour.

I don't think The AD is coming this weekend.

Hopefully we're timing this decently to avoid major highway shitshows, but one never knows. We're driving to the mountains on Sunday and back to Denver on Thursday.

If $60M "indie" art installations are your thing, people who've visited have enjoyed Meow wulf, I haven't gone myself.
The event has begun, excited to see where this ends up. Thoughts and prayers to anyone who tries to get up and ski tomorrow...this from bouldercast
"Northeast winds of 30-50 MPH (!) are locked-and-loaded over Denver from Wednesday evening all the way into Thursday night — more than 24 hours with the upslope snow machine chugging along at full speed. Every single model is showing this extreme example of northeasterly upslope — so it’s hard to imagine this aspect of the storm letting us down. There are even a few models, like the NAM, which are hinting that winds may turn closer to due easterly some of the time. If that verifies, this would likely spawn a nasty barrier jet which would spread 2″+ per hour snowfall rates away from the terrain and out across the entire Metro area during the day Thursday. For now, this is also a low probability scenario, but it does bear close watching as it could push things even higher on the crazy snow spectrum."

The best you can do with 70 is play the odds and cross your fingers. Which is what you are doing.
But always keep in mind that 70 can be a shitshow at any time in either direction. Every one of us who drives it regularly has found ourselves looking at the other direction -- stuck in a massive backup -- and thought "where the fuck did that come from, on a Tuesday?" or worse, being in the massive backup thinking "what the fuck, it's a Wednesday at 2pm?""fuck off you asshat gaper shit for brains fucktard wanker." - Jesus Christ
