Yep, an OU win would have opened the flood gates for us down south.

    Actual question:

If it snows a little, call it average...in the next 6-weeks...can Silverton (the resort entity) survive this winter and come back to operate next year? I can't imagine the resort is skiable off the lift (in any direction) right now. How are they even justifying the payroll right now?

Unless you've looked at their books, you can't really answer that one.

When is the next actual storm?

Saturday is just going to be a trace-2" dusting.

If it snows they will come, but that is a big if. My buddy said he is optimistic for February, so there is that.

Probably worked out for the best since my parents turned us loose on the place.

76-77 was the worst and 81-82 was almost as bad.
That’s when the big push to put in snowmaking occurred.

Even Mikey Wexner was lamenting today.

How do they have 77 runs open? Anybody been there?

Also, how is Steamboat looking? Trees there? They have the most terrain open right now with 149/165 runs and 2300 acres.

    CB is bare

Yup they do indeed have 77 runs going. Let's just say not to bring your good skis/board. They were promising to open east river since Xmas, didn't get it going till 28th or so. Guess the New Years crowd was happy but from what I hear it's bare.

I can echo this. Steamboat is not in at all as of last weekend. Yes, they have terrain open but it is not filled in really. Same goes for Winter Park. No resort in Colorado is really "in". Just to add to the misery, the Alps have been getting crushed recently and last night some areas got 30-36inches of fresh overnight.

So fucking glad I have a quiver of rock skis. It'll be Feb before I ski on my normal touring skis at this rate.
