[QUOTE=goldenboy;7044759]Shoutout to our new snow safety director who took it upon herself to open new, never before opened terrain in Crested Butte. It won't be my new go-to, but new terrain is cool no matter what.
Wait! I thought you didn't ski slopes 30 degrees or less. More importantly can you ski to the Rivian charging lot there?

Over 30, there was even an avy death in Roosters many decades ago. So, sufficiently gnar

TSA definitely gobbles bags of dicks, so no, they will be confiscated.

When I was at Western, a classmate ducked the rope and got lost down there. He triggered a slide and got really lucky if I remember correctly.

Storm is lining up nicely for Silverton unguided weekend. My guess is we will see pass closures and butthurt frange gapers galore. "What do you mean I have to reschedule my heli drop! This is the only weekend I can come down! IT isn't that windy up top!"

I'll be the first one to admit I've gone soft as baby shit this season behind the computer screen instead of bumping chairs in -15 weather.

Come find me in the ski shop and the first beer is on me.

Has anyone here done the Argo mine tour in Idaho Springs? I'll probably have some extra time between when my flight lands at DIA and when I can check into my condo, so looking for something interesting to do on the drive up.

Argo mine tour in Idaho Springs
Like most things Idaho Springs...underwhelming. Give a little more details on your itinerary and we can keep you busy. I set the bar higher than "killing time".

Oh, weather nerds. Go to weather.gov and type something like "Brainard Lake" or "Coal Creek Canyon" into the search box.

I'm thinking Jane all day tomorrow!

Upslopes are cool and deliver impressive totals to the foothills but usually don’t really deliver great snow conditions for ski areas due to limited moisture making it up high and unfavorable wind directions for most of the ski terrain. Maybe this time will be different.

Depends on wear you go skiing. There is a reason that the long term averages for places up on the Divide are higher than those that ain't.

I'll be skiing with a great attitude, the choice is yours.

Looks like it should come in right side up as well. Half of Boulder will be racing each other at East Portal later this week.

Brainard Lake forecast is nuts, 33-51" by Friday morning.

Berthoud Pass forecast more manageable, with a measly 17-29" by Friday.

Unfortunately, after a week in Switzerland, I've got shit to do.

We'll be leaving DIA around 10 am and driving to Frisco. I believe check-in time is 4 pm. I'm sure we'll stop somewhere for lunch and to get groceries, but still seems like a couple hours of free time. This is on a Sunday. If we all had unlimited passes somewhere we could ski for at least a couple hours, but we don't, so I'm sort of assuming that's out.
