Does anyone know if they’re moving forward with developing the Best Western/Arapahoe Cafe site in Dillon with this horseshit?

Yes. Cant read the article, but they approved a scaled down version recently. Im skeptical of letting one developer redevelop so much of the town.

Me too. Plus it seems way over-scaled for the lakefront area of Dillon, even though it was scaled down. Looks like something that belongs in a bigger town or city neighborhood, not Dillon. Typical developer crap.

Plus I loved how affordable and decent that particular Best Western was. Very bummed about this shit.

And Keystone is better? Haha 😜

The biggest loss is Acafe. Been going to that place forever. It was the spot for the locals. Losing a lot of local spots these days. Sad.

Last week was interesting. I went to the hill, put on ski boots five days in a row and taught my 5 year old grandson the pizza and the french fry. Hopefully he is hooked.

Yesterday back into the high alpine. Steeps were fun, bumps were fun. I love skiing so much. Spring is in the air, second season.

Well, Keystone hasn't built a giant ugly wall that blocks the views of the scenery and lake 24x7 just to make sure the poors can't see a show for free for an hour. I heard Dillon told String Cheese not to come back.

I'd just be nervous about having one developer with so much control over so much. Is his vision the future that the people of Dillon really want? Luckily, I don't have to care. But there's a hearing to night for people who do: https://www.summitdaily.com/news/dil...ublic-hearing/

Acafe... I mean the building was historic... food was good I just didn't care that much for it. I just viewed it as crowded and over priced, or super crowded on deal nights. My friends worked there and said it was not the best place to work. I feel for the locals who viewed it as their place.

Dude, you know they Keystone homeowners are gonna but fucking nuts once anyone gives them any power whatsoever right? Didn't they make it possible for second homeowners to vote? Yeah, good luck with that. I never noticed the wall you speak of, go to lots of shows.

This I agree with. I can say that without a shadow of a doubt that Dillon will fuck this all up

Ate at that place for a good 20 something years on a regular basis. Had the employee turnover was very low for almost the whole time. I liked the food and thought it was way better than most places up here for the money. Their bloody were 100x better than the basin's.

Change is inevitable. Way too much restaurant turnover these days. most of the new ones suck. Like bad. They'll need to figure out how to deal with high country employees. Good luck with all that. haha

Gotta say I don't go to Dillon a ton, but this fence was turned into a solid wall last time I was by.

it was warm enough that there were spring conditions in the Cirque? or are you saying "spring skiing" because it was a sunny spring day.

I'd say the later. I didn't go today but I've been out on the sunny afternoons Sunday & Monday. Skiing was excellent more smooth late winter than slushy. It's not quite warm enough, there is enough wind to stop the radiational warming and the sun needs to be a bit higher in the cycle to get the corn cycle going.

^^^ sorry, the snow of the upper wall of the Cirque was still “wintery” and skied great while the lower half down into the woods was heavy and mildly slushy in places. But it was so warm up there in the alpine today and no wind. Chilled in a t-shirt for a half hour on a rock eating lunch, looking up at the Alphabet Chutes. Click image for larger version.

Its starting. Grand County Spring Break starts Friday.

    "I'm over it"

    "I'm ready for summer"

    "We're going to the desert"

Drinking appears to be the afternoon activity of choice

Service industry employees just don't give a fuck

And the end of the weekend/beginning of next week looks snowy

    Bring it!

Always seems so early for those to close up.
