Fruita gonna be a even more shitshowy cray than usual starting Sunday through rest of next week. Everyone and their motha want a piece of that sunshine & desert singletrack. Half of Steamboat will be there for sure, we got 1.5" of rain in a couple hours just today. First legit t-storm. Runoff got legit real quick!

Jax knows how it works. Those without a working problem will probably just leave now, drop the boat in the parking lot at Berthoud, ski the Jane for a few days then post up at Highline.

Luckily we've got a lot of mountains and a lot of desert. Not that many lifts and not that many trails however.

So, since I cancelled the Fruita camping trip this weekend, I need to find an alternate destination in the next couple of weeks (we need to take the camper out before the warranty expires, to make sure that the shit that got fixed this winter is actually fixed). Everything in Fruita area is booked. I'm ok with front range camping since this is really just a shake-out trip, but the only place on the FR that I have camped at is Horsetooth, and it's booked.

    Any suggestions?

Canon City is an option, camp by the bridge trails out your door.

I am guessing you don’t need to test hookups? Was also gonna suggest buff creek. Rd 550. Warmer than Fruita

I like the diversity. For the rocky tech stuff I go Penitente, Stone Quarry and Pronghorn. Not much in the way of flow trails but parts of Pronghorn have some flow. If I just want to get some miles and vert I go ride a mix of jeep trails and single tracks out at Lime Kiln. Some nice 25 mile 2500 vert loops can ride in both directions. That is all that is dry now. Later on higher stuff opens up like Middle Frisco and Trout Creek.
