I'm almost always bar down, helps with the chairlift vertigo. But I also ride a lot of lifts that don't have a bar.

There have been four helicopter rescues in the past couple weeks.Three people plucked off of Torrey’s peak, two from the summit.

Did the landslide on Loveland Pass happen after you'd left?

Pretty sure that happened in the am before they opened. It was just in the sisters, so you could drive through keystone.

Sure hope they get that cleared up quick-ish - gonna suck having hourly closures for hazmat through the tunnel for awhile...

I have no idea how this compares to the slide on teton pass last year, but I just looked it up and TP was closed for 3 weeks.

Stellar day to party on snow on saturday. Tweaked my back a month ago so did not ski all of May. Glad I got out for a finale.

The photos I saw seemed to indicate something not nearly as destructive as that TP slide. Mainly appeared to be rock and soil across the road.

Just saw an aerial video of the slide. Cleaning that up and stabilizing the slope is going to take weeks I’d think.

FYI, NOT the Seven Sisters. 1 mile north of the Pass, just above the tight switchback at Sheep Creek

Bring in those dudes from Gold Rush. They will have that dirt moved and the backslope cut in a few hours.

Looks pretty small compared to the TP slide.

Agreed - that above shot seems to show some significant road bed damage in addition to the dirt and rocks on the road. Gonna be awhile...

Saw a vid somewhere of some big ass ice chunks calving off from about that slide.

In other news I got my bike stuck in a snowfield way the fuck up on a mountain last night and made it home way after dark. Probably going to try to avoid doing that again. Dirtbikes make poor snowmobiles.

For those of you with facebooks, here's a video of the slide still moving from today I assume.

I heard on the summit radio that CDOT had to haul away 92 tons of rock and soil.
