Well today was fun. Legs are cooked.

I should bootpack the little hill behind my neighborhood next, get a few powder turns with the doggo. I guess there will be insanity at the resort, what timing, ullr.

Toured in the trees in Summit today. West facing, 10.5k, the storm slabs were reactive even though they weren't very hard BTL (4F, F). Be careful if you're touring in the high country this weekend - things are gonna be touchy.

Warnings and Advisories issued for pretty much the entire state. Plenty of obs from today and yesterday. Weather forecast included heavy snow and, more importantly, extremely high winds.

I'm afraid this season will get worse if Mike Vrabel becomes head coach at Bama..........

You responded to my text. You probably just have a grudge against the Crimson Tide. Thanks for the help though. I haven't heard from Alabamaskier in a decade I think. They had a newborn at the time.

Yesterday was absolutely splendid skiing in Breck, pretty calm with wind but looks to change today. There's always that one storm that really gets the mtn going and man what a difference yesterday was vs before it.

I'd bet imperial and hopefully peak 7 get going after this weekend storm. I might actually want to head to the basin sunday now that some decent terrain is open.

Things were still dangerous last Sunday with deadfall. The 2 more feet yesterday opened up al lot more tree skiing. skied really deep as only had an inch of water. So still a few things lurking down there. Getting ready to head up. Looks cold.

^Without a doubt. Had that thought in our heads all day and took it easy best we could. Enjoy!

Yeah I skied untracked woods yesterday due to powder fever. Can't go full bore quite yet, still fun!

Even on some named runs off Alpine I was skiing through pine saplings sticking up at least 12" through the snow. That was more frustrating than watching for deadfall in the forest proper.

Yesterday at Breck was absolutely fantastic.

Pali Spine is prime today, if you can withstand the -47F windchill. It’s a little tough weather-wise out there, but it’s also not often that Main St is bump free…..extremely soft, smooth and rip-able today.

Breck winds. Hit 88 around noon. "Now, if my calculations are correct, when this baby hits 88 miles an hour, you're going to see some serious shit!" -Doc Brown.

The struggle to decide if its worth the drive from Denver is real. I think between miserable cold, potential wind closures, and road conditions it pains me to consider I might be sitting it out. There's no way loveland pass stays open through the weekend I'd wager.

Loveland pass already closed and I70 at the tunnel looks like a complete whiteout with vehicles stranded.

Currently pretty nasty in Silverthorne. Patches of visibility but patches of whiteout. Snowfall looks like it's picking back up too.
