Fuck! If that's not a PTSD inducing experience I don't know what is.

Two of us here on TGR were first responders to the sheep creek avy and pulled that survivor out. It was a day. I'm sure Summit was there also but may not have known that detail.

More than a few PTSDs came from that day. Not worth revisiting unless someone actually has something to gain from it.

^^ link works for me desktop and mobile.

Bright and sunny first thing this morning on the front range, clouds and Greeley scent rolling in from the north. Love watching weather roll in. Read this morn that this makes it 8 weeks in row for snow on front range.

Those couple days of warm weather sure were nice. I never used to get this way, but the last few years, I find myself looking forward to summer earlier and earlier. Is it still February?

Another glancing blow from a weak upslope - sweet!
I'm not daydreaming about summer activities (yet), but a break from the mega-ridge and the 2" + wind bullshit would be nice.
    Next week looks interesting.

So much rotten snow in the San Juans rn trailbreaking is nearly impossible, though the skiing itself is not that bad

I dreamt of thunderstorms last night. 40's in Routt county yesterday, makes me wonder if there was thunder while the storm was coming in this a.m.

Can't remember Colorado ever having a six week period like this where every storm, storm after storm, is an upslope in the middle of the winter. The next one for this weekend seems to be following the same pattern.

It is called La Niña. Stormtrack goes south of us midwinter. Happens every few years. Whatever. I’ve seen way worse.

Saw that earlier and I thought this whole time that backcountry skiing involved skinning uphill. Who knew. Still can't take it into the wilderness. Thank dog.
