I’d cross the larger towns in Montana off the list. I thought it’d take longer to become Front Range light but Covid fucked that all up.

i just did 2 seasons at big sky and everyone was telling me ..."man it was so different even last year b4 you got here, no lines for the tram..." i also witnessed some ikon lanyard couple going off on a missing a tooth liftee in a lift maze, "that's not how it's done in colorado....", liftee: "u aint in colorado!" (i sized them up in 5 seconds as they were sporting about $5K worth of gear and softgoods) while really standing out as hard to please guests....i was just thinking , this is so f'd up...no wonder there were like 5=8 sticker versions i saw all variations of "ikon not wait for you to leave, go back to colorado, etc" stuck everywhere...someone even printed a localized onion like zine....all of these types of things covered and more..... very depressing...

however, there are still some prime spots in small mt towns, many most have not heard of...but some are going to be BC only and that is different skiing than ripping laps...

on another note, WC snow was great, tracked out really fast compared to all my previous excursions down there....besides every alberta chair full w 4 until about 2:30 (which i can live with and realize the low tide year), there were other little odd intricacies....met some really nice people on chairs ...maybe more than any other time in the past...but there was an odd vibe here and there....

however, there appears to be something developing like WC is becoming the ski bumble ...as i witnessed more than a half dozen single ladies most ripping skiers....in fact, one pulled up next to me in the lot to park, i snagged on tree and ripped leg of pants and went back to ducktape at lunch and she came in and left, and another single lady pulled up in the parking space that the other vacated....they were pretty good looking and if gear means anything , iguess pretty accomplished skiers?? i saw some on lifts too in the single lane/line

not sure if colorado or montana is the homebase of more sprinter vans .....but lets not forget tahoe, utardia, washington and jaxon....whatever the case they are prevalent in montana and colorado and unless it's a former freight carrying 2004ish 450,000 mile retrofit...they are 6 figures and used infrequenty....i would say the freight retrofits are used very frequently and many are livaboards....u cannot compare these two together..altho at night in a nuking parking lot, they look similar...


i still say there are single women bumbling around at wolf c.... i think they have taken govt jobs in rural or mtn communities but originate from a metro or metro college, or road tripped in...i had one ask me for my digits and call me right there so i had hers....jus sayin...

Pali and beavers skied pretty well today, nice soft snow groomers are firm though. Went back to Zuma yesterday just to do it and while I found a few soft turns the snow back there is pretty funky and holy shit do they have a ton of ropes guiding you through lanes of skiable snow.
