yeah, they are a few miles apart....imagine the possibility that two different mountains could get different snow totals

Get some, I am jealous of the Aspen area for sure today!

Had about 9.5" on my patio this morning in Boulder. Backed up real close to the Flatirons, so the upslope helped a little bit. Got a few pow laps in at Eldora this morning. soft, smoove turns.

Hope the "real" mountains get some Thursday. What's the story looking into weekend/next week?

well Eagle county got 3-5".....poor flow for us again. I would say another 2-4" for this part of the state in the Thur-Fri range. Saturday is a transition day then late Sat into Sun and Mon....looks, well, ummm....promising.

What is the word on Blue Sky? Are they opening it on Thursday with China, or are they going to heed my wishes and wait until Friday when I can actually ride it?

    thanks in advance local snow-rider...

I think this weekend's system will be interesting. The mean flow will be similar to yesterday--west southwest, but the flow will be significantly strong bringing in copious moisture and the dynamics look to come more from the west.

China bowl opens thursday. I was looking at it with binocs today and they groomed the two center sections but the bowl is untracked and fresh. AS I was looking two guys with packs slipped down the groomer and into the trees, headed SE. Long skin out...

Still wanna tour sometime this weekend? Not sure which day I can make it happen yet. It's snowing pretty good up here right now. Hope it keeps up.

JT- since BSB opens on Sat, we were thinking of a tour on Sunday. Lemme know if that works. It might be storm touring by the looks of it.

    This sounds really good:

    CAIC:

"Colorado is under northwest flow today. There is limited moisture in the flow, just enough for some clouds and light, scattered snow the high mountain ranges. Cloud cover will thicken overnight ahead of a little shortwave. By mid-day Friday skies will be mostly cloudy, with light snow spreading to most mountain locations by Friday evening. The shortwave is a gentle lead-in to the weekend’s fury. Saturday is the start of an interesting and intense change in the weather pattern. As of now, the models have a closed low developing over northern British Columbia. The low spends the next week working south along the Pacific coast. That puts Colorado under west and southwest flow with a wave after wave of strong storms."

All areas are about to get hit....hard is my guess. I think areas around Aspen and Crested Butte might be in the best position for the most. All mountain areas by the end of next week have the potential to be measuring new snow in feet.
