Maybe Foggy is based in Eagle county. I'd be pissed as well if I lived there.

Funny how satan has specifically targeted Montanskier's home mountains with the latest round of the Bama curse.

Yeah, true. I thought Foggy was in WP. Vail has been getting the shaft the last few years.

Foggy is in the Fraser valley, not Eagle.

And WP isn't in as bad of shape as Vail and the Beav or Telluride.

Telluride has gotten 19 inches of snow so far this season...

    When’s Palmyra opening? 2020?

Probably. If what little snow they have is as rotten as what the steeps in CB have, it'll take a bunch of snow just to start over once it slides to the ground.

I've got a trip to Dirturide in mid March. Every time I go there I get foiled on my attempt at Palmyra so I don't care if it opens but....too soon to panic?

    There's this, fuuuuck:

"The community of Eagle County is coming together with boxes and bags filled with food for people in desperate need of some help...dozens of seasonal resort workers are impacted. Many encountered fewer than expected work hours and smaller paychecks due to the lack of snow and open terrain earlier this season"

    Yikes, a little windy today...

T-bar at Breck opened today. I'm stuck in the office, so I guess all the Texans will get first dibs on coreshots....

Gotta love how that happens. Give all the rope drops to the tourists and screw the locals. I guess they are paying customers and all.

ABasin always opens new terrain in the afternoon. This sucks because all of us early risers get screwed and the late day people who slept in get all the goods while I have to go to work. Arg!

This is SOP at every single resort I have ever skied at. They aren't throwing avalanche bombs and ski cutting at 4am, so the goods don't usually open before noon.

Christ, between you people getting all worked up over what amounted to a few scattered snow showers and the bitching about the need for control work to be performed during daylight hours, I cannot get the fuck out of this state soon enough. Happy days will be here again when I can leave and hopefully never come back except to drive through.

Dumbasses spend millions on fighting EICs and a new lift and have it designed so it closes when there's a breeze. Not like they didn't know it was windy there.

Design firm and execs should be slapped repeatedly in public.

WP opened up Panoramic today and it was a shit show of nearly EpicTM proportions. Everyone was forced right under the lift, off windbuffed corduroy, into dense pow. I counted maybe 15+ total yardsales as folks on rental K2s blasted face first into the carnage. Made for a couple very enjoyable lift rides.

Took off around 11:15 as nearly every lift line filled to capacity. The groomers are decent at least. Not terribly excited to be heading back to the San Juan's where we actually have something to complain about. At least I got a couple days in while I was up here... and the ice park opened last weekend.

P.S. What is with everyone skinning up runs during the middle of the day? I totally understand that the backcountry around here isn't great either and you need a place to get your tour on... but why risk it while the lifts are running? I saw a couple near misses with out of control texans almost creaming skinners. On these crazy days around the holidays I imagine there are better places to get some exercise.

Don't get your hopes up for a significantly higher intelligence level elsewhere, although decreased population density wouldn't hurt.

And the rest is melting this week.

1A’s actually skiing well and Aztec’s opening tomorrow. No lines, ever.

I recall a few years ago someone on here described skinning up a busy resort in the middle of the day similar to jacking off in a whore house. Kind of pointless. I get the exercise in the early morning part, but this time of yer?

It would be great if a resort put in a switchbacking ski track in the woods - I think Snow King has one?

Or just shut down skinning when the lifts are turning like LL did his year.

Some people can’t get out that early or late.
