Would love to have Aspen on the RMSP + , even just a few days. Variety would be good.
If we're in fantasy land, I would like:
Unlimited Copper w/ Secret Pass & parking spot for VIP living - unlimited Eldora -6 Days Crested Butte - 3 Days Taos

I don’t consider steamboat, Aspen, or Crested Butte as front range mountains.
All RMSP offers front range skiers is Eldora, Copper, Winter Park. Eldora has its moments and is great if you live in boulder but it is arguably the worst front range mountain. Copper is a good mountain but the high alpine at Breck is better. Winter park is pretty dope.
Epic you get the summit mountains plus vail and beaver creek. Beaver creek alone is a huge selling point. Plus high alpine at Breck, ABasin all season, and Vail. RMSP doesn’t really offer that much on the front range
WTF does any of this have to do with the damn weather?
Take it somewhere else.

There is no weather... default = bitching about things that don't matter.
Because they're not. They still matter to front range skiers, though.
There's nothing to argue, Eldora is the worst front range mountain (assuming Echo isn't in the mix). So yes, for easy day tripping, the Epic Pass beats the RMSP in total mountains, though RMSP has better traffic avoidance (WP is better than Summit/Eagle, and Eldora by far the best). You said that they couldn't come up with a pass that rivals the Epic Pass for front range skiers. If you like bumps or trees, or happen to think Copper is the best mountain in Summit, or hate the fucking tunnel, or like easy weekend road trips to mountains that you have days at, you might find the RMSP+, especially if it has Aspen days, to "rival" the Epic Pass.
But I guess I should be glad that there are many who think like you. So never mind. Epic Pass for life, brah!

I want to see a $600 Alta/Bird/Solitude/Brighton pass. Maybe that would convince a couple million of you gapers to move to SLC.
Another non-weather related question (sorry Makers). How many people are asking hitchhikers on Loveland Pass (or wherever else) if they have beacon/shovel/probe? I pulled over today to shuttle some people when I realized that no-one had packs. This prompted a question from me about their gear and the bro in the group said "are you serious your asking that on LL pass" to which I replied "yes, people have died here and this is the backcountry" then carried on my way.
Who else is asking?
I've been the asshole who turns on his beacon looking for a signal for hitchhikers beacons. And then taken 2 out of 6 because they were the only ones with gear when I still had plenty of room in the van.
I understand....maybe I should give a lift to the other bras and try to inform them of good backcountry practice. But in my experience a lot of those dudes are deaf to advice much like your experience above. So maybe not getting picked up is better incentive.
At this point I only slow down when I see dudes with packs that hopefully contain gear.
Even if they are wrong, people do not like to be told what to do. Unless you're really good at communicating, your attempts to provide immediate constructive criticism about backcountry travel to a stranger are going to fall on deaf ears.
Last time I gave a dude a ride over the pass he smoked my weed and didn’t say thank you. He was also clueless about backcountry safety
After that day I vowed never again
My fears exactly - I guess my concern is that one of those bras would bring the house down on me; but I suppose choosing to ski that pass carries certain inherent risks.

Yay!
It’s the annual “OMG people are skiing Loveland Pass without avalanche gear!!! They’re going to die!!” posts.

JONG alert.
(Well not quite JONG, JOOG maybe, I've been here a long time but pretty much absent from the forum for some years).
I'll be staying in Eagle over Christmas and New Year, skiing with my fiancée and my son, with Epic passes. He's quite a decent skier (not a hotshot though), she's only starting to ski off the groomers (which is amazing progress considering she was a total beginner two years ago).
We decided to go to the USA after the poor Christmas / New Year snow we had in Europe a few years running. Now I'm looking at current Alps and Colorado weather side-by-side and I'm questioning the wisdom of my decision. Should I just relax and wait for the inevitable storms to start dumping?
Here's a photo to sweeten the JONG pill (my mate irbis descending from Col du Monetier after a three-hour tour)

You really need to stop knowing WTF you're talking about. (Tippster)
Correct — in part. My comment was asking if anyone has changed their tact in picking up hitchers on the pass. Ridiculing someone for asking a question when their intent was to strengthen the backcountry community seems quite brazen.

There are certainly other parts of the US like Jackson and Big Sky that get more consistent snow for Christmas.
Colorado can be very hit or miss, especially in the past 10 years. Our seasons sometimes don't get going until late Jan or Feb.
I also remember some years growing up where there was no snow and then all the sudden we got 3+ feet for Christmas.
The good news is that it looks like the University of Alabama football team won't win the national championship this year. That's usually a good sign. (Local maggot superstition...)
Do you like mountain biking? If the snow is really bad and it is warm enough there is biking all around Eagle.
Planning ski trips sucks. Last year I went to Whistler and got rained on while it was snowing back home in CO.
