THEN A PATTERN CHANGE SEEMS TO EVOLVE NEXT WEEK AS AN OMEGA BLOCK
    SETS UP OVER THE WEST.

I see the models showing another storm mid next week, but I guess I'm hesitant at this point. The ridge looks pretty strong right now, we'll see how it develops.

I think I am going to hold off until tomorrow...with the wind, and if Battle Mountain area gets the full 10 today, and 2 to 4 tonight, tomorrow could be pretty damn good.
You should have been here yesterday!

I'm pretty sure Vail reported 1, not 4. That might help your decision.

Absolutely NUKING in Breck right now. Hopefully it keeps up for a while. They actually cancelled elementary school today. High school kids were already at school when this hit.

My wife left for Yoga around 6:00 AM this morning in Vail. It wasn't snowing when the class started. Driving back from Vail at 7:30 AM she said was total white out, cars everywhere on I-70.

As Montana posted above, it's pounding snow right now.

If you're coming from the Front Range, doesn't take much to think you might want to be in Steamboat

storm looks to be just about over. still light snow at the base in Vail, but from Dowd west the sun is out. Can't rule out another afternoon burst but will be small from here out. Good lil storm...6" on the valley floor.

the weekend storm looks impressive, however it is MUCH warmer. Definately rain on most valley floors to begin. Snow levels look to be around 9500 to start before eventually lowering to the floor. An upslope type storm for the front range possibly and a strong SW flow...for those resorts that like that kinda thing...cough...CB....cough.

Thanks again Smmokan, I don't really know what happened this morning, maybe just wasn't awake. Sounds like snow came to vail but it would have been tough waiting there for it. Would have been good, but a long day for sure.

Went to Basin and launched King's Cornice at least a dozen times into some of the best creamy pow I can remember. Nice flat base for straight lining. Norway was shut down so there were still fresh drops when I left at 1:30. Slopes facing East were twice as deep as others.

Mostly sunny today which was great for vis but did condense it some. Should still be good tomorrow especially if it started storming when I left like it looked it would.

Was Great at Vail today. Probably snowed a foot or more at the top of the mountain. Sadly, the last snow maybe inch or half inch that fell, was graupel. Kinda ruined the super fluff from earlier in the day, but still good fun powder. Possibly fluffy powder condensed by winds in the afternoon also, trees held much better snow in spots. Some aspects are slightly sun affected, especially at lower elevations.

April rocks, great to have less people on the mountain, there will definitely be something left to find tomorrow at Vail.
