Well shit, 11" at Loveland? Nothing like another "at least we under-forecasted" day.

Side note, is Stanley slide path on 40 a permanently closed area?
Saw 3 ski tracks right down the middle yesterday. Talk about a run that takes a lot of cajones. Seems like CDOT should be frowning on this big time?

Huh? No it's not closed. Yes, it gets skied frequently just like many other avalanche paths that cross highways. It is however cool protocol to bring the long eyes in order to ensure that they are not fixin to blast as your fixin to ski. And, for purposes of discussion, why does it take more cajones than any other south facing above tree line avalanche path?

Huge terrain trap and when it rips, it goes big and runs 2000' vert easy. Add the CDOT target practice and IMO, its a pretty ballsy line.

wish I had a pocket predictor that would have told me today would be a pow day at LL!

I'm envious of the mountain town people who can roll out of bed, see it snowed, get a few runs of pow in, and still be at work by 11.

Breck up high is way deeper than the reported 7". Still dumping on Imperial, hoping they get Whales Tail, etc open.

It opened and it and pk 7 bowl was spectacular. Measured 16" at the lower part. Lapped it all afternoon with very few people out there...loooove April!

You gots to channel your inner LemonBoy. When you see words like "northwest flow", "upslope", "ornographics", "locally higher amounts", its time to start paying attention.

Tracks were filling in on my last run down the beavers and still snowing at 3pm. Solid 10" on the Basin side of the pass.

Yeah, if it makes you feel any better, I did that today, but have to spend the rest of the week in the big bad city, sucking down that brown cloud goodness you call air.

Your priorities are wrong. I rolled out of bed at 9Am, drove to loveland by 10:10, finished by 1PM and was at work by 430ish...

I love it. LL reports another 10", 21" in 48 hours. And the Basin reports another 6", which if it's anything like the 6" yesterday it's more like 10". Did anyone actually forecast this 1-2 feet over the LL Pass area?

Models are not geared toward making predictions for micro climates.
That’s why forecasts for Wolf Creek and Steamboat always are fucked…

Outliers aren't outliers if they're consistently that way.

23" in 24 hours at Loveland is an outlier. No model showed that much snow in that or any other area. Almost every storm has an outlier but it's impossible to predict accurately where they are going to pop up.
